Torts apparently doesn't like the two players, and I guess they want to move Farabee's contract, and maybe don't like Frost's ask as an RFA, but that seems like a pretty light return.

Since Briere's in a charitable mood, I wonder what he'd like for Sanheim?

pelletier was available on waivers earlier this season. that looks like robbery for the flames but maybe farabee is rinsed

Philly clears $7 million for next year to take a run at Marner or Rantanen.

Trade away two fungible guys at $7 million, get one back at $1 million.

Love this trade for them. Neither guy they traded is very good and that money was better spent elsewhere.

2 fungible 24 25 yr olds who had 91 pts last year and are probably fed up with playing in that mess of an organization. You really think Marner or Rantanen would go to Philly and play with who??? Konecny

Yeah both Philly guys have stagnated under torts. I get the bet from Calgary's side but I doubt Philly will miss them too much. Or at least won't miss the current iterations.

They’re the most replaceable sorts of players. Pelletier has been good for Calgary this year and replaces one of them for a fraction of the cost. Go sign a Suter or a Geekie and you’ve replaced the other one, have a bunch of cap space, and a pretty high pick to spare.

Like, is Morgan Frost a meaningfully different player from Ryan Spooner?

Yes he is. Way more talented. Spooner was just fast

He's a 45pt player and just turned 25....Avg 31pts 5v5 last 2 yrs
Farabee avg 38 5v5 last 2 yrs 24yr old

Tortz plays the low triangle. Everyone starts lower in the zone off the cycle. Both were stale in that shit franchise and system
