The Oilers are definitely giving us an opportunity to catch up, I understand we don’t have Quinn, but this is a really important stretch for us

I was unsure how I felt about Ovi breaking the record, him being a Putin guy but after Wayner’s act on Thursday and his affection for Trump I say Go Ovi Go!
Totally agree....I thought I'd be a little melancholy about Gretzky's record falling to Ovechkin, giving something for Putin to cheer about. Now I really don't care.

Gretzky has become almost totally 'Americanized'. It happens to a lot of Canadians who spend enough time swanning around in Hollywood circles and in the upper echelons of the Republican Party. Wealth and tax cuts become part of the core belief system.

So if Ovie breaks the record and then retires, I'd be surprised if he doesn't stay in NA anyway.

What did he do on Thursday, I feel like I should know this
Maybe petty but when he was announced as the Honourary Team Canada Captain he came out of the American Tunnel, gave the US bench a number of “ thumbs up” and didn’t seem to acknowledge the Canadians at all. Like I said I may be being petty but I for one am beyond pissed at the disrespect and contempt that is being shown Canada. f*** em all.

Gretzky looked pretty sheepish to me. No doubt he doesn’t like all the negative press, which he deserves, after basically a spotless career and post-career from a reputation standpoint. Even GM’d the 2002 Olympics where we won gold.

Fair enough, didn't bother me but also I don't expect much less from someone who's living there full time for this long. Eventually what you feel is home changes after you've lived there so long. He was kinda caught in the crossfire.

I personally don’t think the thumbs up meant anything. He was walking by the USA bench and I think he just gave a thumbs up to the players. Criticizing him for that is ridiculous

But all the Trump support, ya, fair game.

Rangers looks cocked this season

Maybe they finish just outside the playoffs

Regardless, they can’t tank next season
As long as Drury is their gm they won’t be tanking (at least intentionally).

Problem is they’re running out of young players to trade away for patchwork solutions to squeeze the last bit of juice out of their aging roster.

Basically their entire core has regressed massively this year, Fox being the most surprising of the bunch, because at least with the others you can blame it on age.

I feel the same way now too. I still have my doubts of Ovi and also that whole Putin thing, but now it's just one person I dislike breaking the record of another person who I dislike, so I don't really care. At least having a huge record being broken would be somewhat cool to witness.

Honestly though, I blame team Canada for not picking someone else. Maybe they asked him long before trump mentioned 51st state, but once he did and also tossed Wayne’s name as the governor, it was best to select someone else whose political views were more neutral to the current situation.

Ovy was going to break the record. I’m just surprised that he could do it this season while missing nearly 20 games due to injury.

Rangers pull out a 5-3 win on the road against an undermanned and basically 'gutted' Penguins team. Miller with a pair of goals, including an empty-netter.

A New York win, but man did they look awful and totally unengaged at times in this contest. During the middle part of the game, they were out-shot 19-4. Shesterkin was basically under siege.

I just don't see this Rangers team capable of making a run to the playoffs in the East.

It is all part of the sum total for me whether you think it ridiculous or not…. we can agree to disagree 👍🏼
