So Kelly Sutherland no longer does playoffs ? That’s good news.
5 goals in 8 playoffs games. I wouldn't say no based on this yearSo all said and done everyone still in love with ehlers?
If Kypreos and Hrudey are bloated, what happened to Sekeres? The guy can barely open his eyes anymore with all the extra rolls and skin on his melon. From the shoulders up he must weigh an easy hundred. Donate one of those chins to Gord Miller. The guy ate a bowl of Basketball soup. Mix in a salad or an apple.
I think he just ran one out of town.
Podz was giving all the chances in the world and showed nothing... I still can't believe people are getting at all upset with trading him.
Mik was coming off an injury riddles season and I do think a change was needed for both him and us, and he was still getting top 6 mins when he left.
Kuze... I get that he was bad defensively... I just think looking at it we could have used his offense better and tried to hide him more. I think a better coach uses him instead of trying to get him to change his game so completely.
Knoblauch isn't a dummy. If he has Podz playing with Draisaitl there has to be a reason. Maybe it has something to to with his puck retrieval skills or the way he passes the puck.Podz did nothing all season, playing a ton with a Hart candidate.
He would have had like a 10 point season here, and missed the playoffs, only to be traded for even less this offseason.
It's more like, why are you doing handsprings over Podz?Knoblauch isn't a dummy. If he has Podz playing with Draisaitl there has to be a reason. Maybe it has something to to with his puck retrieval skills or the way he passes the puck.
But beyond the points, he's become a very effective penalty-killer for the Oilers--and the PK is one big reason they're back in the conference finals.
Some posters are doing verbal handsprings to try and explain why peddling Podkolzin for a fourth round draft pick--was somehow the correct move. Sorry, but he was really never utilized or developed properly in Vancouver. And at just $1m a season, he represents the kind of bargain contract that every contending team needs in its depth forward group.
It's one thing to make a bad trade. But when the guy at the other end is Stan Bowman and the Oilers.....well that just pretty sad.
I must have missed this. I thought there was only one accuser? I didn't follow the trial closely but I don't recall reading that there were multiple people who came forward accusing Virtanen of sexual misconduct. This isn’t even like the Virtanen situation where you had multiple people come forward accusing Virtanen of sexual misconduct and he was found not guilty because of lack of evidence.
I think we're on the same page here but just to be clear, one can certainly rescind consent at any time but not after the sexual act is finished. You can’t rescind consent after the fact.
"He's no better than O'Conner." Are you saying O'Conner is barely above replacement level then?0% in my opinion. That would be really braindead for any franchise. He's no better than O'Conner. He's replacement level maybe worth a fourth if you need a cheap contract and have some like for him personally.
You willing to make a bet that Podkolzin will be in the NHL full time next season?I wouldn't be surprised if he's out of the NHL by this time next year either. He may even find himself on the outside looking in for Edmonton next year as they probably have more cap space too. Not sure about their cap though.
Fair enough. We'll see. Also don't think that Beauvillier trade was realistic. Washington paid way more than they or anyone should/would have.
We have 10 of these players in our NHL lineup. He was moved because they assumed he’d end up being waived. This is not a hard concept.Knoblauch isn't a dummy. Are you referring to the juror's complaint? The judge found no evidence of that happening. Personally I would be surprised if they did (and very stupid of them to do so). They are suppose to try and convince the jury that their client is not guilty.Just like Formenton's lawyers should be disbarred for subverting the justice system,
I’m no attorney, but purposely pissing off the jury seems like a poor strategy to win a trial (especially if you could have simply chosen a trial by judge in the first place). Are you referring to the juror's complaint? Regardless, that doesn't rise to the level of subverting the justice system though. Maybe I am missing something here?
Had hoped for the Jets to get there. Now down to Edm, Dal, Car and either Tor/Fla in the final 4.Jets put up a good fight.
Stars, it's up to you now. You're healthy. Take these f***ers out. Get revenge for last season.
I don't expect the NHL to ban the players.Yeah, agreed on all counts.
One possibility is that she was fully consenting and this is all just drunken regret and the situation has been pushed legally by the people around her.
The other is that she was legitimately uncomfortable about being in a power imbalance and didn't like the situation ... but then responded by putting on a 'porn star persona' and being a 'people pleaser' (her words) and basically aggressively trying to hook up with everyone in the room. And, like, that's not sexual assault at that point. If you're telling people to 'stop being a p***y and f*** me' and then they f*** you, they haven't committed a crime.
And again, the flip-flop on what happened with Formenton is astounding.
These players are all kinda gross douchebags (as is the accuser) but this doesn't look anything like a conviction will happen and I can't really see an argument for them not returning to the NHL.

I think all these guys are getting back into professional hockey in North America if they choose to do so and most of them will probably get NHL games. I also think a few of them will just move on with their lives after hockey.I don't expect the NHL to ban the players.
It's just going to be up to each NHL team to decide whether they wish to sign them. Dube, Foote, Foremention, McLeod this group, not sure they have the upside for a team to want to deal with the PR. Dube was about a half a PPG guy in 22/23 then the allegations came up and he had 7 points in 45 games in the NHL then in the K has 11 in 42. If he doesn't score, is he an NHL regular? McLeod is a bottom 6 C. Unless he's great at faceoffs, PK, or uses his size well, he might just be another guy. Foote, defensive Dman. 145 NHL games. Not sure if he's better than a 3rd pairing. These guys were all basically born in 1998, so they are 27 this year. Foremention, retired.
Hart, probably the highest potential upside, but wouldn't get signed as a starter. Start as a backup.
