The Tkachuks are good boys I get why he’d want to play in Florida, but I don’t see Florida winning with Brady on the team.

Toews at age 38 when he cant play anymore. Raddysh is a not a superstar or big name star. Yeah Tavares did come home and I respect him more and more every year because of it.

Crosby? Mackinnon? Point? Marner? Stone? Makar? Hagel? Bennett? Marchand? Reinhart? Stamkos? Pietro? Doughty?

None of our stars come home EXCEPT tavares so far. I want to see what McDavid does next because that will show if he wants to put a big stamp on his legacy.
Sounded like Pietro would have come home. Crosby and Mack seem more tied to the organization then the country itself

Raddysh was the biggest D available this summer

Do you think this was Brady wanting to play in the states, or did he want to play for Florida (plus a few others)? Would he have gone to Detroit or back home to STL?

Apparently, options included Wild, Golden Knights, or Panthers. Who knows, maybe the Blues? IIRC Blues were an option for Matthew when he gave a list to the Flames.

It actually shows that they are loyal for the most part for the team that drafted them, right?
Marchand left because they weren't going to re-sign him, and he flat out stated that it was the money that made him go to Florida.

just like we don't talk about Bruno, we don't talk about Marner.
I don't know about Stone.

but the others are still... pretty much w/those teams who drafted them, or they priced themselvs to a point that a Canadian team can't afford to do it.

I said it somewhere, maybe reddit - McDrai seem very much like this gen's Getzlaf and Perry. they are most likely going to want to stay together so you've got to have cap space for both and if for example McDavid does want to play in Toronto, and Draistal does not what happens. [this is what happened with Perry. He stated he was tempted to come to Toronto the first time he hit UFA, but Getzlaf didn't want to play in Toronto, so they stayed in Anaheim).

I would have to wonder as wel [as I said else where before) if I'm a Canadian team - am I even wasting my time drafting a US born kid right now.

Hanifin wanted to leave Winnipeg asap, Gaudreau and Tkchauk both split on Calgary. Hughes wanted out of Vancouver, Brady Tkchauk basically lied and is all "I love Ottawa, I love Ottawa, I don't wanna leave," until he's gone.

Like why bother? I'd just stick with Canadians (for the most part), Russians and Europeans.

I would think best deal came from Florida.

It isn't like Tkachuk had any leverage other than not re-signing in 2 years.
STL seems to have been dangling R Thomas around for a while now, and that seems like it would have given both squads what they wanted. But I assume it wasn't where Brady wanted to be and he narrowed his trade list to tolerable spots that really forced him with MT

So.. I guess this encapsulates the whole every American wanting to ‘American’ these days… which, y'know what..?? Kinda f'n sux….

Who does this new gen of hotshot American boys think they are..?? Put it this way…. This sport has been Dominated by Canadians for more than a Century. If all the Canadians banded together like we only wanna play in Canada with other Canadians, there would be no Keith Tkachuk, let alone these lil hellion offspring...... That would literally mean Gretzky, Lemieux and every great Fwd and Dman of the last century would all have been spoiled lil' brats, saying “Grow the game??? F that…. No - trade me to Canada and let me play with my Canadian brothers!”

Maybe they should’ve..

We just took a Toronto guy out of the state of Florida. Best thing is not to fall into the trap of those Matthew Tkachuk spoiler talking points, build a good program and kick his and brothers ass on the ice.

Does Matthews wanna play in the states. If so we should consider options and not repeat a Marner situation.

I think the Sens are gonna be tire kicking hard on EP.

Maybe he waives and maybe he doesn't, he seems like he's had enough of the media to last 10 lifetimes, but they have abundant space, need a top-6 center last week and if they could get him 0 retention for a song (something like idk Amadio and 25th), or even throw in Grieg to get some retention, I think they should do it.

His days as a top 5 C 90+ points are likely done but if he can get his health right and his head right...30-45-75? Stranger things have happened.
