Bad deal for Ottawa. They don’t get a roster player, they trade the player within the division. When you give players NTC or NMC’s you don’t get the best deal you can possibly get. They can still trade those picks for a player I guess….

At least Leafs & Sens fans alike can find a mutual ground in the Brady dislike now. There were some pretty hilarious Brady memes on this board…

I don’t think it’s that bad of a trade. Ottawa is getting a top 10 pick, then another pick in 20’s. That top 10 pick could be very good.

I think Brady is a bit overrated

Bad deal if they decide to use all of the picks. Good if they decide to wheel and deal.

It's an epidemic with this generation of US players.
No problem with US players wanting to play in US. I have a problem with our Canadian players not wanting the same.

Why aren’t any of our Canadian players trying to come home? I actually kind of respect the US players. Not the same for our Canadian players who dont want the pressure or high taxes or whatever

The New York Islanders say hello

What does Brady bring that Florida doesn't already have? Nothing.

They still don't have a goalie and just used up all their assets and cap space to get a winger that plays the same role as like 4 other players on their team.

Does adding Brady really make Florida that much better? No
They better work on the PK cause I feel they will be in the box twice as much now.

Say what you want about Marner but at least he played to end of his contract before leaving.
At least the Leafs never had an instance of their star players putting in a trade request to leave

Well in Marner's case it worked against the Leafs. If he had requested a trade earlier, perhaps the Leafs could've gotten a decent haul for him by shopping him around. Even if he only wanted to go to Vegas, perhaps they could've gotten a Brady type of return that the Sens got rather than just Roy.

Heck I wish Matthews would request to be traded and if we got a Brady type of return or a couple of 1sts and one or two very good prosspects I'd be fine with it.

I can't say I love what he did.

According to what I've heard/read, he didn't seriously try to negotiate a new deal with TOR during his last season here. He rejected a trade for Rantanen. They ended up not getting close to equal value for him.

Now, he had a NTC and it was his right to exercise it. But I would have preferred it if he had said he wanted to be traded and the Leafs had gotten solid assets for him. He also didn't seem particularly invested in their last playoff run, though he wasn't the only Leaf who struggled toward the end of the FLA series.

Didn't Raddysh do exactly that? Toews is retiring after coming home. JT is pretty well known at this point for it

While this year's 9th overall is a solid get I'm not seeing the logic in the Snes making a strictly futures trade for Brady Tkachuk, who they were totally in denial about.

Maybe he would only accept a trade to Florida, but they couldn't get a guy who could help them now, like Lundell or Mackie?

Baffling decision, I was them I'd use 9th and package the other picks for immediate help.

Toews at age 38 when he cant play anymore. Raddysh is a not a superstar or big name star. Yeah Tavares did come home and I respect him more and more every year because of it.

Crosby? Mackinnon? Point? Marner? Stone? Makar? Hagel? Bennett? Marchand? Reinhart? Stamkos? Pietro? Doughty?

None of our stars come home EXCEPT tavares so far. I want to see what McDavid does next because that will show if he wants to put a big stamp on his legacy.
