Options mid season are limited. I still don’t get how NYR let their AHL HC take a job in season. If someone is good and the team believes that they have a future they typically look to keep them. Ahl HC is an important position for an organization.

Yep. Gallant doesn't really have the tactical chops to hang around, but has shown to have some kind of rally-the-troops effect in the short-term.

Until today, I had no idea Hynes coached the Devils for 4-1/4 seasons. I couldn't even pick him out of a police line-up or tell you anything about him. Can't believe this is his third kick at the can.
