Look at who scored the winner in game seven of the Dallas/Vegas series... Radek Faksa!

I'm pretty sure he's DAL's fourth line centre now. When is the last time a fourth line player scored a goal that big for TOR? :(

DeBoer 8-0 in game 7. You guys remember how him, Cassidy, Trotz, Montgomery etc were all available in 2022, and we decided to double down on Sheldon Keefe? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Cassidy couldn't get the Bruins out of the first or 2nd round either, which is why he was fired. Trotz was going GM route the whole time. Montgomery might have been a miss but he had 2 seasons of head coaching experience and it wasn't the greatest in Dallas. He didn't even last 2 full seasons there (mostly due to alcohol abuse issues) and coached one of the biggest choke jobs in NHL history last year, and almost did it again.

I'll be honest, I never thought DeBoer was very good. He's bounced around for many years, but he definitely has been pretty good in the last few years between SJS, Vegas and now Dallas. Sometimes things align and work out for your team. Look at Maurice and the Panthers.

Cassidy still went to a Cup finals, and the second round was farther than the Leafs had ever been at the time. Most of these guys also have far more experience than Keefe. A coaching change was a logical move and they were bringing the core back no matter what, now it's too late to even see what this core could do with different coaching as Tavares has aged out of his prime and Marner is probably gone.

that weather is about to get crazy; take it from someone who works in energy with a comapny based out of texas.
I am in Dallas and Houston every summer for 5-6 weeks for baseball.

It is insanely hot. Especially Houston where it's also muggy.

the thunderstorms are going to get worse. A number of power companies got rocked by Uri the winter storm because ERCOT refuses to regulate weatherization. i'd gladly pay taxes so that i don't die when a winter storm rolls through

Maybe this and Buffalo's coaching strategy will work for both of them, but man these are bizarre coaching decisions.

A lot of Sens analysts/insiders were saying the Sens were trying to get Berube, so I think this signals the end of that obviously. Seems likely Berube will be going to Toronto.

Sometimes a coach changes teams and goes a lot better for them. We'll see.

I don't understand why. I mean, a team with a certified playoff warrior, elite D and one of the best top 6 in the league should attract a decent coach, right?
Maybe Ottawa didn't want to pay what a big-time coach will cost.

I'm not sure I see the fascination with Berube. Obviously had one great run, but not much success beyond that.
