Arthur Kaliyev was waived. Surely someone will take a chance on him. People really believed he'd be a big deal at one point.

Things like this remind me not to get to uppity about 2nd round picks, guys we could've taken and all that. Though I was on the Artamonov train last draft and he's having another pretty dang good KHL season, so I'm kind of wavering on that currently.

Said this in main thread about him but personifies the type of player the Kings cannot afford to give time to if they are interested in winning.

He is absolutely the type of player that teams actively trying to lose will claim and be excited about getting. Which will only help them continue to lose. Feels like the perfect player for the incompetent Hawks front office.

Also not a lawyer, if his lawyer thinks the charges are too aggressive and and the prosecution won't be able to prove first degree or aggravated manslaughter, it could result in a not guilty verdict. I think in some states they jury/judge can amend the charges at that point, but in some states they can't, I don't know which NJ is. I think that's what happened with Chauvin, they were going to charge 1st degree, but worried that the jury may not be able to find him guilty, so they dropped it to second degree to get a conviction.

Could be totally wrong, but I don't know what else it could be. It's not like there's a lack of evidence to tie him to what happened, so I would think they're just arguing over degree and whether it was aggravated or not.
