Kinda feels like the Leafs could have already won this series if just a few things went their way, and now they're actually tied 2-2 lol.

First game I watched in detail but maaaaan the officiating sure seems slanted to favor Toronto at the moment.

Not sure if that's been the whole series or what.

Panthers ate the Leafs' lunch tonight, badly outshot them and shut them down good in the 3rd. Doesn't fare great for Toronto.

I can't believe we're paying OEL $4.5 million to play in the playoffs.

I know I am close to being alone on an island on this, but I maintain that we should have waited another year to buy out OEL. While last season's playoff run was nice and exciting, the savings in cap space did not result in the team adding any long term pieces.

As for the whole "changing the culture" argument, where has that gotten us? The team traded the guy known for arranging team dinners and who management and Tocchet seemingly loved. The guys the team used OEL's cap space to acquire such as Ian Cole and Zadorov are gone. OEL went onto win a Cup and he's currently logging the 3rd most EV minutes of Leafs Dmen. Sure OEL was overpaid but he could play both sides (despite not being tried on the right side here) and previously shown chemistry with Myers. He just was no longer a first pairing defenseman but he has upped his physicality.

Absolutely insane that Domi isn't getting suspended. Just a blatantly dirty, sole intent to injure kind of hit on Barkov at the end of the game.

Only our guys get suspended in the playoffs.

Also this Panthers owner tweet storm crash out is just embarrassing. Imagine having that much money, an amazing hockey team, and then having to be an absolute prick to a bunch of strangers on the internet. People are weird as hell.

The lack of punishment for Nicholas Roy has fully demonstrated the league does not give a shit about player safety anymore. It was only a thing after the initial shock of enforcer deaths and research surrounding CTE.

We are going to see a full return to goonery and cheapshots again.

Not surprising at all considering who's in charge of "player safety".

the leafs are trying but struggling to play the panther's game and reaching a little. it takes practice to play with that much of an edge and mostly get away with it. they should have been working on it for years but at least this year they seem to have the mindset if not the execution.

it's an underrated aspect of playing that way that you can achieve a state of mind where you can finish chances ruthlessly. bannett's late goal is a classic example as compared to knies on that breakaway. i would not be shocked if florida closes it out now.

this has been a good playoffs. i have to admit i've enjoyed this oilers series and the jets too. both those teams may get there, and the oilers especially. i don't see the leafs in the final but they've taken a step. oilers otoh may be starting to roll.

i can't figure out how dallas is doing it.

Idk. IMO The Domi hit on Barkov was bad but not really suspension worthy. 2 min interference penalty at most.

Also for a pretty big guy Barkov is pretty weak on his skates and gets hit a ton.

Why would Roy get suspended for that play? It only looked horrible if you ignored the puck which was bouncing around up at head level which he tried to punch/cross check out of the air. Right call was made on and off the ice IMO. Soucy on McDavid post game last year was WAY worse, because the intent was clear as day. Roy deserved the major, which in OT was a way bigger punishment than getting a one game suspension.
