Around the League 47 Vancouver Collects All the Petterssons

Watching him climb the career points list is a very fun pastime for me because it’s just wild seeing who he’s passing and how quickly.

This year he passed Martin St. Louis, both Sedins, Eric Staal, Denis Potvin, Patrice Bergeron, Keith Tkachuk, and a bunch of others.

Next year he’s got Alfredsson, Bobby Hull, Fedorov, Brind’Amour in his sights. You know, before he turns 30.

You never know how he’ll age but he’s producing enough now to think 2nd all time is very much in play.
It’s going to be tough because he’s only had one real historic season but I’d love to see him threaten 2k. Definitely want to see him get past Jagr. It’s a lot more impressive to me than the goal record. They’re both about longevity in the end though.

600 more games at his current p/g pace gets him to 2000. 550 more games to get him to Jagr.

Obviously the current p/g pace will degrade, and that’s the whole thing. But… if we can get 10 more seasons out of him? He’ll have to adapt once the legs go.

Easter Sunday at 12:30pm is well, just awful. If they have to play on that day, they should all be at night.

Ultimately, it's all about ratings. More interesting series in bigger markets are going to take the prime time slots in the evening, but there's likely going to be more viewers on the Devils/Canes series if it's the only game on (or one of two) early in the day than if it were competing for viewers against those prime time series in the evening

And 1G 25A are from the PP alone, so 5G 34A away from the PP...still impressive but how's his defensive game? A quick check looks like he leads his team in giveaways and misses the net a lot, like Burns-alot. He's more an extra forward like TDA than defenseman?
He is 29th in the league (among defensemen) for primary even strength points (he has 18). I understand it takes special talent to accumulate PP points, and sometimes secondary assists are valuable, and I understand he still is a rookie... but there is - on average - one defenseman per NHL team more productive than Hutson at even strength if we exclude the noisy secondary assist stat.

You'll have to settle for disappointed-but-not-at-all-surprised-jokinen instead.

(PS -- why does "insert image" not work right now?)

Doesn't make it right.

It's a very important holiday for many with services to attend. The game just shouldn't be early afternoon on Easter Sunday.

All yall heathens who aren’t making your family get up before the sun so you can be awake while it rises but you’re not watching it youre watching a reenactment of a grisly public execution while it happens are doing it wrong anyway. That shits over by 9 and then you’ve got the rest of your day
wait - sunrise service attendance meant you didn't have to go to 'regular' service on easter?

Based on the info I just got, it sounds like a 12:30 start on Sunday is "likely." Sorry.
I think we all knew that we are getting the worst time slots available once the matchup was locked in since we have the least intrigue of any Eastern conference playoff matchup, we're a small market, and Jersey isn't a big enough market to pull us into a premium timeslot.

But hey, I don't have to miss parts of night 2 of Wrestlemania to watch so yay!

Snippets?

Need change in front office, Montgomery succeeding in St Louis, anger over Marchands trade, 2015 draft.

I mean, the fans aren't necessarily wrong here. The Bruins did f*** up the 2015 draft and are now paying the price for it. Montgomery may have been on borrowed time but they fired him a little too soon I think. The Marchand trade, well, you kinda have to get something for him so the FO isn't in the wrong there.

Feel like Buffalo does this kind of Dear John letter every year and every year the fans are all f*** you. That's what I find amusing about it.
