i welcome most of your posts, but you're selling kevyn adams slander in the wrong place, friend.

man was winning stanley cup final faceoffs with a broken wrist.

(and has done an admirable job keeping the sabers in the basement as an encore.)
Was pretty much typing the same post up. We're all more likely to be hiding him from the FBI in our basement.

Whenever I go to post something I always ask myself one question: What Would Norm Do:

True re: metro, but I think the likely 2nd round Canes Caps matchup will be a lot of fun for non-fans too. That was a great matchup and series back in ‘19.
Ya agree that the Metro 1st round matchups aren't gonna look great on paper compared to the Atlantic but 2nd round will have some juice if it plays out like it is looking to.

I will say though that Washington - Columbus would be a great matchup if it happens. Two really unexpected teams being in the position that they are in with great storylines. But talking heads and fans of traditional markets won't give a shit because they're idiots.

Marty gets some stick (sounds familiar):

That sounds different than the Marty we had here. It sounds like in this case, Necas turned it over, but still back checked enough to make it a 3-on-3 going back, but ultimately lost his man in the defensive zone. The Necas we had would have turned it over and then skated into the offensive zone, turning it into a 3-on-2 the other way.

For me, Necas' responsibility matrix turned on during the playoffs last year. He carried that to this year & his responsible play was much better than the past (leading to fewer mistakes).

However, he still has defensive shortcomings as Avs coach detailed

lol what the hell are you on dude, Marty backchecked as much as any of our players when he was here

Last spot still wide open. I'm thinking Montreal has the best shot with Columbus and Detroit hampered by tough schedules. Maybe Rangers have a shot too.View attachment 1003177

I'd modify the "tough games" list according to when the game is played. Playing a good team that's already got their spot locked in place the last game or two of the year may actually be one of the easiest games on the list.

I'll hate on hockey talking heads all day, but I think they at least would be talking up this one because of the Johnny Hockey story re Columbus. (Fans in the Center/re of the Hockey Universe would argue, however, that Cbus needs better defensive play so they should trade Voronkov for Pontus Holmberg and a fourth.)
