I think we agree: Lou's version is better because while they are delaying a rebuild, they at least sneak into the playoffs.Oh I think you are misremembering the past a bit.
We didn't make playoffs for JR's last five years here.
So the second half push was even worse.
We went from "great" to "meh" draft pick, and didn't even have playoffs to enjoy.
God I do not miss the Karmanos days
That be expensive. But cap is going up I guess![]()
It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't in this case. The UFA market for D men this offseason is pretty bad. Provorov is the only other player close to Chychrun and he's not as offensively talented, a year older and at least with Chychrun you know what you have and the situation works. On paper, it does, but Chychrun is only going to be 27 when the contract starts, meaning an 8 year extension is almost all prime years except maybe the final season or two. IOW, this is probably worth it unless his play falls off a cliff again.

He scored from his spot down 1 goal against the best defensive team and goalie in the league with 4 minutes left?8 with a great shot and a goal
Big boy hockey, now tied 2-2, 4 minutes left.
yup and in his prime he could skate like the wind; when he checked you it hurt.He scored from his spot down 1 goal against the best defensive team and goalie in the league with 4 minutes left?
Oh he’s a one trick pony who does one thing? Yeah and no one can stop it. In 20 goddamn years. Remarkable.
The funniest part is that I feel like somebody here called that happening like six months ago.It sure is setting up like ovie is gonna break the record at home April 10th against the canes and I won’t be surprised one bit if that happens lol
I'll be in the house for that so I won't complain if he does. Score early to get it out the way and then Carolina romps to a win.It sure is setting up like ovie is gonna break the record at home April 10th against the canes and I won’t be surprised one bit if that happens lol
Canadians talk A LOT for a country that collectively hasn't accomplished as much as the Canes since the move from HartfordOn TSN just now, a group discussion about "Which team or player has done the most to silence the haters?" Sam Cosentino picks Carolina: "still a 100-point team, and I like their first round matchup against the Devils."
The host responds "Ok, but is it really hate? When you think of Carolina, isn't it really...Meh?"
Everybody laughs.

Wrong. They will all say that the Canes were their dark horse pick all along, praise Rod’s system, and talk about Dundon’s shrewdnessWin and they shut up
A little dark for my tastes.Just figured out a move Terry Pegula can make to fix the Sabres:
Hire Dany Heatley as his new limo driver.
The hell they will. 06 was damn near 20 years ago and people on this stupid website still say that team lucked their way to the cup.Win and they shut up
Confirmed torts gone.Sounds like Torts is out in Philly. Which makes sense, given his postgame comments the other night.
Nah it'll be endless talk of how much of a fluke it was and how the team was one of the worst championship teams to ever play.Wrong. They will all say that the Canes were their dark horse pick all along, praise Rod’s system, and talk about Dundon’s shrewdness
