Around the League 47 Vancouver Collects All the Petterssons

I don't watch these teams but is this year different from others 🤔?

It was supposed to be. They fired their coach, changed up management, etc. Dangle talked about it in his latest video.

11 years ago, the Leafs were solidly in a playoff spot going into Game 69. They had a 36-25-8 record. Then they lost 8 in a row and 12 of their last 14 games. They fell so far out of a playoff spot that they were able to draft Nylander at #8.

This year, they were solidly in a playoff spot. On March 2nd, they beat Pittsburgh for their 5th win a row and 8th in their last 9, putting the division lead in their sights.

Then they lost to the Sharks, Vegas, Colorado, beat Utah, lost to Florida, Ottawa. They are now 3rd in division and Ottawa is only 4 points back. It's unlikely they miss the playoffs, but falling into a WC spot is not out of the picture.

That'd be a shorter shelf life than he normally has with teams.

Also, VGK-BUF game, Hertl had a clear shot at the empty net, but decided to try and pass it back to Eichel. Sabres intercept and Dahlin ties it late. Sabres win in a shootout.
That game ended up perfect. I think Eichel is a great player but thought over his career in Buffalo he was a pouty brat. He scores a big goal here in the third, in Buffalo after the crowd has been booing him and gives the crowd a good celly - smug and happy to the bench.

Sabres tie with 13 seconds left after Hertl makes his empty net gaffe to try to help Eichel really rub it in. Eichel gets stuffed on his penalty shot attempt (great save) and get the appropriate love from the crowd - then Buff wins when Tuch (the player traded for Eichel) buries essentially the same move Eichel got stuffed on. *Chef’s kiss*

Buff doesn’t get a lot of good moments so you have to give the golf clap of approval on occasion.

The Knicks aren't consistently GOOD enough to even consider being contenders. They made some "big trades" and came into the season with that label this year, but have lost--often badly--to every top tier team. Anyway, jokes on them: they can't hurt me anymore, I'm dead inside (NBA wise)!

As long as the Hornets and Sacramento Kings exist, there will always be teams in worse shape than the Knicks

Thank god this dumbf*** is out west now. His game has turned to shit and this is all he has left. At least he won't be in the playoffs doing it.
I saw a cancer screen TV commercial with Trouba. He says "you should get your body checked" or something along the lines.

"You should get your head checked" would've been more accurate.

I remember being in this situation. I hated Karmanos for the dark ages
What makes it worse for Buffalo compared to us is just how many top 5 picks (even top 10 picks) they've had and they can't develop them...then as soon as they trade them away they blossom. We were just cheap, not a UFA destination, always missed the playoffs but did well enough to not get top 10 picks and never won lotteries. Buffalo is pissing away talent somehow (like Edmonton pre-McDavid)
f*** Trouba and especially f*** his apologists.
it's f***ing embarrassing how many apologists are in the main board thread insisting "it was shoulder to shoulder" and "he didn't leave his feet" (because a dick-hair of his skate is still touching the ice the millisecond he initiates contact). Like no, this dude has a history about once every 10 games of launching himself at a players head blindsided, Necas ducking him is a perfect example of what every hit would look like if he didn't make contact...FLYING forward, elbow extended at head-height.

You'd think after the Necas miss and the airborne miss against Tampa in the playoffs IN THE SAME f***ING YEAR that it would be quite clear that this guy not only deliberately chicken-wings on his hits but launches himself to do so. If Shanahan were still in charge of DOPS instead of dipshit Parros then Trouba would have flat out gotten the Raffi Torres treatment by now.
