Wow at Florida Tampa Avs

The have separated themselves from the rest of the NHL right now.

Tomorrow is another day for teams to match though. Canes have no shot in reaching those 3 unless they trade for another high quality d and 2C ( Nelson would have helped) beyond Nikishin before 3pm.

Kinda tough for the Wings that the Yzerplan just kinda did nothing again at a deadline where playoff spots are there for the taking. They do seem to have a path forward at some point with the prospects coming but you'd think you'd try to reward a team that until recently had played so well under McLellan even with something small.

Well, Winnipeg put a 6 spot on Jersey tonight, so maybe they got all their goalscoring out of the way and we can have a chance on Sunday.

Though Jersey is in real trouble. First Hughes is out for the year, then Hamilton and Seigenthaler as well. They could legitimately fall out of a playoff spot.

I like Dougie but he has missed significant time in 3 out of his 4 seasons in Jersey. They haven't even been able to fully enjoy the benefits of the early part of the Dougie contract. Most of us just thought it might be an issue late. That being said, we'll re-acquire him and a good draft pick for the legendary Nils Juntorp and the totally not made up Yegor Naumov in the offseason.

We are going to play the rangers. Ugh.

The whole 'Yzerplan' thing is a sham, just like the Philadelphia 76ers 'Process'.

Although to be fair to Stevie Y, he inherented an awful situation, it was going to take time. But even then I think he's overrated as a GM. Never forget his first draft he whiffed on Brett Connolly while Skinner, Fowler, and Tarasenko were available. Hell even Forbort, Bjgstud, Bennett, Swartz, and (before his troubles) Watson were available and would have been better picks.

He got better as time went on, but he whiffed that first one, and also missed on Druion.

It's groundhog day ... again.

Boston’s remaining players not mailing it in. Outplayed the Canes and now giving Tampa fits too.

I didnt realize Hedman got hurt the other night against sabres. He’s not playing today.
in our game the other night, it really felt like we had swapped from 10-15 years ago. back then, our guys would scrap boston would sleepwalk and we'd lose a close one. we flipped the script. now, if they also want to emulate dark era canes it is appropriate that they start to inexplicably win some after trading away most of their pieces with value so their draft pick gets properly middling.
