So TiVo scores the first black dog goal of the year, all the announcers talk about is what a great pass from bedard… it wasn’t…. TiVo made a really nice deek left and stuck the puck in the top right corner. Ignored..

It’s nice to see that TiVo gets as much respect in Chicago as he had in Carolina…
I think TOI is all the respect he wants. He gives zero umlauts about other attention. He is a Finn after all.

Francis making another...interesting....gamble on a goalie with a limited track record.

According to Friedman, this contract and the others they threw out during the summer are a result of the pressure the Kraken feel to stay relevant in their city. They feel like they need to make splashy moves because they're worried their STHs won't renew at as high of a rate if they don't stay relevant, especially with the NBA eyeing a possible expansion into Seattle.

Talk about a splashy move!

That seems crazy short sighted. The way the team will stay relevant is winning. They’re up against the Mariners and Seahawks, not the Yankees and Cowboys.

I know nothing about any sport outside of hockey, but a Google search says the Mariners are good (I think) and the Seahawks are middling?

Mariners are the definition of a mid franchise. Their idea of a good year is being a bubble team. Seahawks were irrelevant for decades but turned it around in the 00s and 10s. Still, they’re just a face in the crowd as far as the NFL is concerned.

Ms made the playoffs 2 years ago for the first time since 2001. Not sure what's happening with them now.

Seahawks are in a state of flux I guess. Probably waiting on their QB of the future.

NBA is going back there eventually.

Yeah I don't know what's going on there now. If it's panic that the NBA might be coming back and that's what Seattle was originally pushing for I get it, though making bad signings to stay in the news isn't the way to go about it.

That…..and they didn’t have a quality vet center and Stephenson was one of the only decent ones on the market.

Everybody is thinking it, but I'm the only one brave enough to say it:

I'd rather pay Kotkaniemi $4.82M through 2030 than pay Daccord $5M through 2030.
I’d rather pay Stephenson than KK.
