Boring and predictable Western conference. If not for POS Kadri running Binnington, Blues probably beat the Avs.

I at least got to watch it without any stress. I'm going through a lot of other stuff in life and the ECF is just adding to my stress. If I had any sense, I wouldn't watch it, but I can't not watch it.

Good deal, rest up Avalanche and party like it's 2001! Now where is my 6-disc CD changer?

If you're anything like I was in 2001, it's in your entertainment center topped off by your CRT television, playing CD's loaded with tracks that you downloaded from Napster.

Someone posted this on Reddit and I love it:

He's one of the true agents of chaos in all sports. He can have great performances. He can give up 19 goals on 5 shots. He can make amazing passes from his own crease. He can look like the goalie version of a beanie propeller hat at a moments notice.

He is the only Mike Smith in a league that currently has two Sebastian Ahos.

Commentary I'm seeing is that he was toxic for the development of their young players, and for a rebuilding club, that's less than optimal.
So in a DeBrusk vs Cassidy situation the Bruins sided with DeBrusk.

If true, Cassidy is best for a team with fewer young players, trying to make a push now.

He's basically a solid consolation prize for the team that doesn't get Trotz. Definitely not Detroit with that reputation. Maybe Florida if they decide to move on from Brunette? Dallas? Flyers?

I can’t see Florida changing coaches this year. Cassidy to Vegas is my guess.

I hope this kicks our front office into action. These kind of opportunities don't come around every year and we should absolutely be kicking our own asses in the front office for not being able to capitalize on this golden opportunity that we had.
I hope that Roddy considers mixing/breaking up lines to alleviate the stress on the under performing ones. I read it here and agree. To a certain extent, Gallant out coached Rod.

I mean Gallant changed things up and understood that he had certain levers to pull in order to swing momentum in their direction.

I've yet to see Brindy show that ability as a coach. We have our ways and we stick to it. He trusts the players to be able to work out their own issues and be able to solve their own problems. In theory, this should be fine, and what a player would want out of a coach, but in practice, you have to have some backups plans in your pocket, and I'm not sure he is quite there, yet, as a coach.

Watching Drury’s sniper score in game 2 (and Chatfield highlights) makes me angry that team didn’t give those guys a run in the playoffs. Necas in particular needed a benching (along with sitting Cole or smith).

Chatfield wouldn't replace Cole or Smith with his skillset. They brought the physical aspect of the game that the D sorely lacked. Chatfield would replace Skjei, who needed to be benched long before Cole or Smith did

Fair point but I believe he brings both.

Skjei did suck and what needs to be emphasized that outside of Freddie our roster was healthy. That doesn’t happen very often and we missed an opportunity this year.

They'd have swamped us no doubt, but I don't see them running through Tampa or New York so easily. They're not potting 5-6 goals a game against Vasi or Igor.
Plus with Gerard and Kuemper out they are short of full potential.

They have caught a break this year playing teams with injured goalies (Saros, BIllington) and crap goalies (Smith) so I’m unclear on what will happen when they play NY or Tampa.
