I do like Blackwood, but that contract is abit much after only playing 4 games for the Avs. Two years would of made more sense, especially for a goalie that's had a hard time finding a home

Same reason pretty much the same cast of characters has been calling national broadcasts for like 10-15 years now. They're all good friends and friends with the people who make the decision who to hire.

The Stars dealt with this with Larsen, Honka, and more recently with Lundkvist. It seems unfair because forwards don't deal with it to the same degree, but even in this modern NHL, size matters.
