Winnipeg clinched yet? They certainly seem like a lock for playoffs already.

Maybe they'll actually fill stands this season

The long countdown is on for the 2nd relocation out of Winnipeg. Franchise values are at an insane place and the return on investment for the current Jets owners might be too much of a temptation to ignore down the road.

The market cannot afford today’s NHL ticket prices combined with a small building with nowhere near enough luxury suites and amenities to generate the revenue needed in the modern league spells long term doom for the market. AHL and WHL is their future.

Not having an airport exacerbates the situation.

They’re safe. The ownership is unaware of franchise ROI due to the lack of internet in Winnipeg.

Did you guys see that Thachuk goal yesterday? How the hell was that allowed? Then you have Perry not even touching CGY's goalie and we get it called back.

The fu**in rat bodychecks their goalie, THEN grabs his stick and takes it away, THEN is all over him in the crease hahahahaha and it was a goal

They need to get rid of the coaches challenge. It slows the game down and hurts offence. If it’s called a goal then it’s a goal regardless of the play was offside 2 minutes earlier or if the knob of a players stick grazed against the goalies blocker.

Jack Hughes is annoying me. Doesn't have that same pop as last year. He was crushing it for me in my pool

Caufield now the leagues leading goal scorer with 9

I know this is common sense, relying on a teams system, but lets take a look at Ullmark and Swayman early this year

Ullmark - 1-2, 3.44GAA, 0.882

Swayman - 3-3-1, 2.98 GAA, 0.900

Talk about dodging a bullet (not that we were in on either of them, but still...). Just proves that goal tending really is voodoo from year to year.

Yet our goals get disallowed because Hyman or Perry decided to fart in front of the goalie or something 🤷‍♂️

Islands in the stream.
That division went from being really strong to really overrated.

The only team that is at all threatening there is the Panthers IMO. Leafs are behind them, but then the Lightning and Bruins are pretty mediocre at this point. The rest are a toss up of average at best-ness.
All those .500 clubs also have an OTL which jmo, is more Bettman type .500 as those teams have lost more games than won. Seems like every year in the East there may be 2-3 legitimately good clubs and the rest are just somewhere in the mix and first round exit fodder if they even make playoffs. I watched a couple of the East games on weekend and no team was amazing, no team was even good.

Agreed, there are no real juggernauts there. The premier teams are Panthers (legit), the Rangers, Leafs and Hurricanes. Everyone else is just kind of there.

Rangers are basically a special teams unit with a goalie, the Leafs big dogs can’t do anything when it matters over a large sample, and the Hurricanes don’t have the high end talent to win, and have generally overrated depth imo.

Leafs didn't look too legit on the weekend, and really they haven't this season. heh I'm not a huge fan of the Matthews swagger there. But I loved the OT;)

Ullmark has a proven track record of getting impressive numbers in front of a mediocre team defense. Skinner's criticisms come because his track record too
