Around The League 24/25. Parity, blessed parity.

Last meaningless home game of the season in Calgary of course goes to trivial OT, then probably a shootout. Like theres even any point to it.

I can't imagine even being at a game like that. Does remind me of the 90's though.

Guess they figured the OOT scoreboard was gonna go better. lol. I don't really have the Blues. haha

Also Montreal is gonna choke away a playoff spot probably.

Unpopular opinion but I’m gonna say it anyways, Wolf caused the Flames to way-overachieve this season when on paper they looked like a 75-80 point team. He’s going to be a star goalie I think, I just hope he puts his patriotism ahead of loyalty and bolts for the US because I anticipate Calgary making the playoffs next year with them just missing by 1-3 points this year.

Nah, except the carrying and bolting part.

Looks like teams were starting to realize that he's as small as he looks in net as well.

Takes a year for teams to scout goalies. Just look at Silovs

This game shows how theres different expectations for the Oilers and Flames.
After the Oilers humiliated the favored flames in the second round a few years back, Francis was just about in tears, bursting with pride over the Flames 'one and done' accomplishment. There are zero expectations with that team. If they make the playoffs every 5 years, the fans are ecstatic. As long as they work hard fans are happy. Scary part is for most of their games this year the Flames were the harder working team and had the better goaltending, and they still didn't even make the playoffs. The hard work slowly dies off when marginally talented players realize that the team will never be any good, and little Wolfie had a season to remember, but you could see during the stretch run that shooters had begun to figure him out, and he had a SP less than .900 in 8 of his last 14 games.

That is true as well, time will tell I suppose. I didn’t watch much hockey at all this season so I’ll just enjoy their elimination right now and worry about next season, next season.
