I think it goes far deeper than management. I think the owners are complete dipshits and idiots.

There's that, but I think they broke cardinal sin #1: The guy that ran you into the ground shouldn't get the opportunity to lead the rebuild.

Both the Oil are Leafs are examples of this. For all their faults, Chia and TMac were massive upgrades on MacT and the Lowe-era leadership chain of succession. Makes total sense . A strong skater has the strength and dexterity to move back and forth, up and down. Crucial for goalies to be good at.
