Around The League 24/25. Parity, blessed parity.

absolutely hilarious how the Sabres decide to start winning well after they're out...they can't even tank right

Thompson with empty-calorie goals
(btw, I expect Drai to score a couple before the season is done)

The way Tim Murray handled the tank for McDavid cursed that franchise. He tore that franchise apart so hard, it became impossible to put back together. I have no idea of who you could hire to turn them around, and is no quick fix either

I think it goes far deeper than management. I think the owners are complete dipshits and idiots.

There's that, but I think they broke cardinal sin #1: The guy that ran you into the ground shouldn't get the opportunity to lead the rebuild.

Both the Oil are Leafs are examples of this. For all their faults, Chia and TMac were massive upgrades on MacT and the Lowe-era leadership chain of succession. The Leafs finally nuked it from orbit in 2015, bringing in Lou and the "Shana-plan" to re-do the organizational culture and flush the Burke-era leadership.

Totally agree. That should apply in politics as well.

He said, waiting for the inevitable removing of his post due to a mention of politics.:help:

Which is strange since Pegula also owns the Bills and is President of both teams, and they are like night and day with their differences.

Not sure if true, but I heard once that Terry looks after the Bills and Kim looks after the Sabres as far as ownership input (and is also very involved in their daughter’s professional tennis career) is concerned.

Because everything is a delete/cancel issue for many, I’m not insinuating anything other than it’s not the same voice involved representing ownership.

Kim is legally incapacitated due to a brain injury as a result of cardiac arrest. Pretty sad story. So I'm not sure who looks after the Sabres.

They turned down offers of 1st round picks for him just to choke down the stretch. Pretty much expected when they pick a no heart player like EP over Miller.

Don't worry - they have Chytil at $4.5 for 2 more years after this to back fill.

Glad to see the Nucks anchored themselves with PDO fuelled deals last year. "Petey," Joshua, Myers, Hronek, and Hoglander are all on nice deals from the perspective of an Oiler fan. Suter looking like he'll get one too. Drew O'Connor's deal already looks good as well.

Forever ago, Oilers fans were wondering about the origin of my previous avatar and signature. Here it is...

This is simply not getting enough love. Everyone must watch this video of Stu attempting to "skate" to the bench. I have had it on loop for 2 days. One of the funniest things I have ever seen.

And before all you goalie experts come after me...my dad played pro as a goalie and coached for 20+ years post-career. His quote: "as a goalie, I never needed my guys to be the fastest skater, but they had to be one of the strongest skaters."
Stu is simply NOT a strong skater. And this video cannot stop making me laugh hahahaha

Fortune favours the brave. Staios quickly corrected the organizations bad Korpisalo signing moving to grab a top goaltender from a division rival. It's been a major part of the Senators success as a playoff team.

Meanwhile the Oilers have neglected this critical position for a decade signing old retreaded goaltenders and passing on high pedigree draft development options for a volume pick and hope approach. Sleeping on a starting goaltender with three year regression numbers during another peak window season is another high risk, low reward decision of poor management. Oiler management have painted themselves into the Stu Skinner corner.

Makes total sense . A strong skater has the strength and dexterity to move back and forth, up and down. Crucial for goalies to be good at.

I'm missing the lore on this one. Why do we hate him? I don't follow college hockey.

He came in on a lot of American media hype at how good he was in KoLlEgE hOcKeY and his college boy good looks and has been running around looking for big hits in every game. Kuraly decided enough was enough and this college prick got his Welcome To The NHL moment as a result.

Many American college /USNDT are a lot of self absorbed pricks who think they are something special because the American hockey media blows them constantly.
