MLB revenue is close to double that of the NHL, not to mention MLB is a non-capped league.

NHL players make less because the league makes less, a MLB player getting a 500 million dollar contract isn't an injustice against them.

Imo if the Oil were fighting for their playoff lives, Drai and McDavid would be playing.
But if anyone's currently under 80% the team's thought process is they're better served sitting out, as they're more or less locked in as the 2nd or 3rd seed. Thus the Oil are going to be as vague as possible about their return dates.

Remember, the Oil let Drai stay in the game vs. Utah despite his injury, as he was chasing 50 and his point streak. He also tried to play through it vs. SJ.


Between what's happened to Drai, Nurse, and Kane over the last few years, the team knows well an early injury is going to cripple their chances to survive 4 rounds. So why going into the playoffs with something nagging?

That's pretty bad. I would even argue that our D is better even when they have Heiskanen returning.
