GDT: Around The League 24/25. Parity, blessed parity.

How the hell is Tampa +32 and barely clinging to a playoff spot? Thats wild

Yeah I wondered that too so I looked up their schedule and they had a rather pedestrian goal differential on November 23rd (+9) before blowing out Colorado 8-2, San Jose 8-1, and Calgary 8-3 which made it balloon to +30. That and they haven’t suffered any bad blowouts in their losses.

Almost the opposite of the Bruins, how they’re hanging in the playoff picture with a ridiculous -20ish differential.

It's crazy how bad Nashville is. I still cannot believe how hyped up they were lol

You know you suck when Vancouver is beating you

They had a pretty nice run last year but it’s pretty much been a disaster this year. Trotz has made a bad situation worse too. I kinda thought their moves were overrated especially Stamkos but I didn’t think they would be this bad. Its even worse because its not like getting the 8th seed is difficult this year

All of a sudden they're only 3 points up on 9th. There would be something hilarious about finally winning the division (or god forbid the conference) only to face LA again in the first round because they fall into a wild card spot.
Quirky thing about LA. They have been nearly unbeatable at home and bad on the road. But they have also only played 19 home games vs 29 on the road.

Wasn't it the exact opposite for them last year? I swear they couldn't be beat on the road, but suck at home. They are definitely a goofy team.

It's the same script every year with them and Vegas. Roll through the league for the first ~30 games, then slowly slide backwards. Both are big, heavy, defensively structured teams and I feel like that style lends itself to better starts vs. teams that need to feel a level of feel and flow to be dominant. The Jets kind of fall into this camp as well and they're also hot starters annually.

That canucks kid was able to salvage the goal puck from the dumpster behind the rink shortly after JT threw it in there.

I think it was '01, where the Oilers finally finished above 8th in the west, clinched a playoff spot with a few extra days left on the schedule, and STILL we drew Dallas

Haha I remember that. I think they finished 5th in the Conference and had a great year relative to their expectations at the time. Remember thinking it was weird and refreshing that they didn't need every last game to make it in.

Then.....ya.
