Unfortunately I can't see Colorado missing. That team isn't nearly as good as it's reputation, but it's definitely a lot better than the squads behind it in the standings.

Unless MacKinnon goes down for 30+ games. That might do it.

Dont disagree. Would just be amazing season for that to happen though

The Avalanche are what everyone always (and still) accuse the Oilers of being. Not much depth, ride their top players to too many minutes, and mostly only score on the power play.

They are legit just a 1 line team + Makar. And very good at it. But the media would rather focus on throwing shade our way than the Avs

The Avs don’t really play with a lot of structure. When they were 4 lines deep with speed they could destroy teams off the rush and in transition plays.

They still play the exact same way except now they only have one line that’s at all effective playing that way.

So wait. You're telling me the Canucks WEREN'T just an uber elite team that was going to shoot 12% and get 0.910 average goaltending forever? I see their 0.996 PDO now and I just can't believe my eyes!

Tocchet is a crap coach IMO. He'll probably be the sacrificial lamb here because the other option is a franchise altering trade in a moment of extreme weakness.

But the real problem in Vancouver is that the playing roster just isn't that good and never was.

Tocchet got so overrated by some here (and a lot elsewhere). He wasn’t good in Arizona either, granted it was a worse roster. Winning a Jack Adams was laughable but he’s not the first “flash in the pan” coach to get lucky and watch the wheels fall off the following season

But yeah, the roster is still a mess, and they made the already junk d corps worse with adding more giant slugs on D like Desharnais and Forbort

PDO normal this season and the Canucks are ass. Who knew?
Well, it is still top 10 lol

Tocchet has an option to leave this year. Imagine he did. Makes Nucks look like a horrible Org. He gets fired, same thing. They hand picked him after diking Bruce around lol. Win-Win

Pettersson on pace for about 21 goals this season. How is that fraud make 11.5 million dollars per year? lmao! Good player but probably worth 7.5 million at most. Immensely overrated.

Yesterday a colleague was ranting and raving about an underperforming employee that is over paid and says something like this:

“He’s like the Elias Pettersson of our team. Talented and we need him, but lazy as f*** and way overpaid.”

Died laughing.

By midway last year, they had the top 5 highest PDO of all time. 2 or 3 of the teams in that list were the 80's Oilers....

And Cuck fans got mad when we brought it up

Wish I remember where I read/heard this, but there is some smoke that Tocchet is sick of the bullshit and is just going to go back to TNT next year.

As much as I hate the Flames, I'd rather Flames and Blues make the WC than Avs and Nucks. Both Avs and Nucks fanbases are insufferable and to see them not make the playoffs would be glorious. Plus, can also see what dumbass narrative the PHWA will use to try to deny McDrai hart

For sure the Flames. Not sure about the Blues after last summer.

They might as well rename the Jack Adams to the "Best PDO" award.

How the hell are the Caps #1 in the league? The f***?
That Logan Thompson trade as MASSIVE. He' been excellent

I have seen a few of their games. I don't really see a #1 team there

2.13gaa 924% with 25 games played

I remember the justification for it too:

“PDO doesn’t apply because the Canucks shoot selectively.”

Ya ****ing right…

They never should have referred to last season as their “housemoney” season. It’s turning out to be their only season.

This is the first I’ve heard of the “house money” season lol. On what basis were they justifying this thought exactly?

Looking at cap and roster projections for them last year was fairly obviously their one.

The great thing about PDO champ clubs is that they inevitably fall back to Earth all the time and offer all that illusion that the team is actually good enough. For divisional opponents its kind of the perfect thing. It keeps them mediocre as the clubs themselves figure they are better than they are and just going through a rough stretch...

People talk about Petey and Miller a lot but others like Boeser look invisible as well. Its a whole team thats seen a ghost. The spectre being that they realize they just are nothing and that theres no point pretending otherwise. cucks aren't making the playoffs even in a relatively easy division. What giving up looks like.

It was supposedly house money because it was just the start of their window.

Not really sure why that was the logic, or where it came from, their core is older than ours, but... That was the main idea. 😂
