I think the Kings are for real, and are not going to go away any time soon. I still think we're a better team and will eventually overtake them for good, but they'll be a handful come playoff time for whomever they hook up with. Kuemper seems to have found his A game, and he's making a huge difference for them.

Remember when part of the sell of a new arena would be that Edmonton would be able to host the draft or all-star game?

10 years in and nada

Haven't hosted a draft in 30 years. Haven't hosted an all-star game in 35+

But hey, at least we got to see Tampa win the Stanley Cup in an empty building during covid.
Haven’t reallly thought about that. But now that I think about it, seeing our crowd and fanbase at those events would have been awesome. Show these ho hum fanbases around the League how it’s done.

It is bull shit we haven’t even been considered for some of the events. No doubt NHLers whining about having to spend time in Edmonton has something to do with it. And on that note, f*** Brad Marchand.

Nucks fans finally realizing what I’ve been saying for awhile now. Yes, maybe JT Miller should just STFU. Who made him coach?

I keep on thinking of that PK shift right before Miller was benched and then took his extended leave. Petey's watching for the cross-crease pass. Miller's yelling at Petey to mind the guy behind him that he's already minding (and guarding a potential pass from reaching). Pettersson turns to look behind him at whatever Miller's yelling about. The pass goes through. The other team scores. I look at that and think, maybe Miller should just stfu.

Vancouver
I would have liked to boo Calgary, Vancouver, Vegas, Toronto etc selections in person at one point, but oh well
Went to the 2019 Draft in Vancouver and I was in an elevator with a Flames team representative and their freshly drafted young Russian player Ilya Nikolayev. There was a second draft player and team rep I can't remember. I congratulated Ilya on being drafted, told him he would love the city but gave him my condolences on being picked by the Flames. All light hearted and tongue in cheek with a smile. But still felt good haha.

Remember all the false promises the Oilers made about the arena?

-Would feature skywalk seating where fans could buy tickets in the catwalks and view the game just the press could. This was axed.

Arena would have much superior ice infrastructure and Hvac (which has broke down multiple times in new arena)

Whole concourse and building was supposed to be tiled instead of just concrete.

-New technology in the build would allow fans in their seats to be able to track bathroom waiting lines, concessions lines and or order right from their seats

-Arena would have 180M in the latest tech-jumbo-projection quality that was going to bring the best pre game and effects seen anywhere in the league. (lol they have tech, they barely use it, the production still pales compared to several rinks)

There would be massive food options aside from concessions. Every type of food imaginable. They've really underdone that.

Ford Hall was also reduced in size from original plans.

Won't be lineups or crowding in concourse areas. lol Won't be long lines for bathrooms, lol

Other concerns are that the New arena is possibly a shelf life lemon. Within years of build some of the exterior cladding was coming off presenting a danger especially in wind. Roof panels that came off. Hvac that had to be improved, fixed several times and found to be not sufficient. Interior floods caused by inadequate plumbing, drainage. Water line breaks. Cheap drywall everywhere. Its a cheap build arena with flashy exterior design and cladding. So much of the money as stated was thrown away on poorly used tech.

Not to mention that Rogers has all the character of a 2010's remodelled McDonald's.

The Coliseum might have had its faults, but going to a game there felt like walking into a hockey pantheon, especially with the exposed trusses, raw concrete, stark lighting, and old-school matrix scoreboards.

Rogers OTOH feels like a generic corporate conference center that just so happens to have a hockey rink in it.

Vladar with a .833 sv% and Wedgewood pulled with a .778sv% Hahahaha
Backups. Not a surprise really. Wedgewood close to skinners season average there

Demko out and injured. Probably doesn't help the Cucks leave him out to dry from game number one and onwards

Still lol Buffalo back to being hot up 5-3

Even Blackwood got put in and let in one on three

Lmao Buffalo blows 5-2 lead and its 5-5

Have to hand it to empty better merchant Mackinnon

He has three assists

He still puts up points and the empty netter points are just the cherry on top
