All of last season posters that don't see it saying Dubois is nothing. Him and Strome have transformed the Caps team. LA really misused this player who was very good in Winnipeg and good again in Washington. Don't take my word for it. Head coach gushing about the player.

Coach Spencer Carbery said Dubois’ modest numbers don’t tell the whole story of how the trade has helped Washington, though.

“Finding a player like Pierre-Luc Dubois is not an easy task in the National Hockey League if you’re not drafting in the top five,” Carbery said. “So, to execute that trade and for him to come in as a big centerman that can skate … the other thing that goes unnoticed about him is he’s so smart. Reads and decisions, he’s just a very intuitive player out on the ice, so rarely have to correct him with any of his positioning stuff. It’s just seamless for him. He’s such a smart player.

I'd add "A big Center that can skate, produce, play 200ft hockey." Any time I see Dubois he's making the right smart plays, setting up transition, backchecking well. He's like RNH except built like a tank. You only get a player like this once in awhile. Kings screwed this royally which is fine by me.

But all the big brain hockey pundits were flaming this player saying he's basically a cancer. lol. Once a story line forms for some they believe its reality. Strome Dubois could be the best 1,2 C in EC right now. Or not far from it.

Boston are basically unwatchable and Buffalo are horrible period.

Dubois chooses to be competent every second year.

Sequence is:

Be good.

Take year off, embarrass himself.

Play good again.

Take year off, embarrass himself.

Rinse and repeat.

Not really. Last two seasons in Winnipeg were good, how were they not. Player was misused in LA. Anytime they put him with even Big players like Byfield he was good. Just my take that Dubois likes playing around some size. he wasn't getting much of that in LA.

There was a lot of manufactured Dubois hate last season from fans and pundits around the league. its interesting to see what his head coach thinks. Glowing review. Basically if guys like Friedman are saying something it should be ignored most of the time.

Dubois is setting up transition very well in Washington. Doing whatever that team needs him to do. Playing smart 200ft hockey.

Give Dubois meaningful roles and he plays it. LA didn't do that.

Guess we’ll see next year.

More people instantly and correctly predicted that he’d flop in LA and the Kings got bent over in that deal than the other way around. He’s a primadonna that takes time off when he feels he can. That isn’t just going to change instantly.

If the Canucks goaltending drops to even just average their season is over. Their whole season has been propped up by great goaltending by Lankinen.

Haven't been watching many games this year. Can someone please explain how is Washington good again?
Basically they hit on every trade and free agent signing they had. Every reclamation project has turned up roses for them. It's kinda crazy how everything (Except Ovie's injury I guess) has broken right for them this year. Even Ovie was playing like he was 30 again before the injury.
