Mackinnon and Rantanen have been racking up the empty net points like crazy this year at 9 and 10 respectively. Essentially 1/5th of their production this season has come on empty net goals. Karpizov is too. He's 2nd behind Drai in goals right now. 6 of his 22 goals have come with an empty net.

Meanwhile McDavid and Draisaitl have 1 EN point combined between the two of them.

Kucherov had the most ever EN points in a season last year at 14. It's the sole reason why he won the Art Ross. Mackinnon might have taken that to heart. He and Rantanen looking to shatter that record.

Yeah, I mentioned it a few days ago
I can't stand the general lazy AF media too. They talk Kaprizov up like crazy about his goals this year. Never mention that 30% are empty netters lol. Same with Mackinnon

That's actually pretty insane. And it means McDrai are really still the League's elite of the elite.

Tage Thompson must have rocked him.

That or his dainty wrists have failed him again.

“Can you really give the Hart to Draisaitl when he doesn’t even put his team in position to collect empty net points!?”

I jest, but I would not be surprised whatsoever if we hear something in this vein at some point.

Predators on track to do the Oilers a favor today.

Fingers crossed that the Kings don’t find a way to push to OT like it seems like every team in this division manages to do.

Don't look now but Buffalo is losing
I was gonna say Boston finally found a team they could beat but Buffalo actually outplaying them now. lol bruins. They might hold onto this one. Everybody else is skunking Buffalo.

Haven't been watching many games this year. Can someone please explain how is Washington good again?
Even without OV, they are. Some fans hate the players the added but they've fit in pretty nicely. Its just a good team with all bases covered, hard to play against, and they can score too. Guys like McMichaels finally putting it together. Strome coming into his own. lots of ingredients on that club. deep even.

Caps are doing all this without OV, Milano, They deserve what they've got.

Outstanding management.

Grabbed Strome, Thompson, Chychrun for peanuts. McMichael and some of their other lower picks have hit big time.

All of last season posters that don't see it saying Dubois is nothing. Him and Strome have transformed the Caps team. LA really misused this player who was very good in Winnipeg and good again in Washington. Don't take my word for it. Head coach gushing about the player.

Coach Spencer Carbery said Dubois’ modest numbers don’t tell the whole story of how the trade has helped Washington, though.

“Finding a player like Pierre-Luc Dubois is not an easy task in the National Hockey League if you’re not drafting in the top five,” Carbery said. “So, to execute that trade and for him to come in as a big centerman that can skate … the other thing that goes unnoticed about him is he’s so smart. Reads and decisions, he’s just a very intuitive player out on the ice, so rarely have to correct him with any of his positioning stuff. It’s just seamless for him. He’s such a smart player.

I'd add "A big Center that can skate, produce, play 200ft hockey." Any time I see Dubois he's making the right smart plays, setting up transition, backchecking well. He's like RNH except built like a tank. You only get a player like this once in awhile. Kings screwed this royally which is fine by me.

But all the big brain hockey pundits were flaming this player saying he's basically a cancer. lol. Once a story line forms for some they believe its reality. Strome Dubois could be the best 1,2 C in EC right now. Or not far from it.

Boston and Buffalo look horrid.
Boston are basically unwatchable and Buffalo are horrible period.
