I seen a few Flames fans say Oilaz are winning gamez becuz of our PP......lol what?

This is how weird Van fans are. Somebody from my wifes side of the family (younger person) went to that Survivor series PPV in VAN. Didn't know they had one. He said people started chanting JT Millers name there at a WWE event LMAO
I flew out of Van this morning. A SHOCKING amount of rather overweight men holding replica WWE championship belts as their carry-on.

It's just such a bland, generic building. They could do so much more with the space.
Agreed.

As cramped and outdated as the Coliseum was, it really had that old-school grit and industrial character that made you feel like you were walking in to a hockey pantheon.

Rogers feels more like a corporate airport where CEOs go to talk market strategy while occasionally glancing up from their smartphone to check out the game.

I have been dismissing the Canucks because of their almost softest schedule in the league thus far. What is Demko going to do that Lanenen hasn't? Be better than 10-0 on the road? He is a fragile bandaid.

Their goalie is the only reason they have the record that they have

It's amazing how Nuck idiots cling to Demko as the reason they lost last year and aren't amazing this year.

Like you said, there are only so many more pucks you can possibly save. It's a ridiculous narrative.

I think one of my favorite modern arena interiors is Nationwide in Columbus. The arena district there is made up of revitalized and gentrified industrial facilities, and the arena itself was built to reflect its community (lot of brick and steel). Went there for a work conference last summer where I took this pic; it's definitely my favorite of the 5 US arenas I've been to. Haven't seen a game there yet.

Have you been to Detroits, similar looking to Columubus by the looks of your picture. But Detroits has lots of bricks and nice on both sides of the concourse.

I like how the flames made their fans think they were going to be good… again.

It’s classic.
I think the Flames will try to move the Kadri contract as a step towards a rebuild. It won't be easy but if you retain 50% then somebody might bite on it. He's 34 already so obviously he won't be part of a rebuild. 3 years left on his deal after this season.

Hubs contract is all but untradeable and (I believe) is buyout proof.

Just to be me. Flames and Oilers are tied at 28pts and until 4 games ago 5 pts up on us

On another topic, I do not know why but I looked at the Vegas all time drafting. We realize they do not car about draft picks but in 8 years of drafting

In 8 years they have draft 54 players only 15 have made the NHL with 8 coming from the first draft

On their current roster they have only 3 players are home grown.

It will be interesting if some organizations look at what Vegas did and try to duplicate it.

Who cares about the current points lol. The flames will fizzle out from a playoff spot right around the playoffs begin but still be in a position where they can't draft top 5 in next year's draft. f*** them.

Nope.

4 non-game events between Columbus and Nashville.

9 games at Lenovo Center (used to be PNC Arena), including 4 Oilers games (1-3-0 :help: ).

1 game each at Honda Center in Anaheim (Ducks vs. Caps) and Capital One Arena in DC (Caps vs. Devils).

*Drivesaitl ramble mode engaged* 🤓

Bridgestone Arena is in Rogers Place territory; nice, but generic airport vibe.

Honda Center has a dated interior, but it's been my favorite American game experience thus far. Second best goal horn in the league (behind EDM obviously); it shakes the floor and is way more impressive in person than on TV. The interior is a little dated, but sightlines are incredible. The fans are nice too.

Lenovo Center also has a 1990's feel to it. Not bad, and not good. Just meh. The fans are absolutely insufferable though; think the entitledment of Leafs fans with the obnoxious redneck factor of Riders fans. :naughty:

Capital One Arena has classy fans, but easily one of the least enjoyable venues. It's a dated shoebox arena with the seating bowl pushed nearly all the way to the outside. As a result, the concourses are all very skinny and cramped. They also haven't been touched since the arena opened.

Detroit’s is also filled with lots of heritage displays (museum like presentation) from the various eras throughout. There are videos on YouTube that show some of what it’s like.

And lots of concourse bars and restaurants. It why in the early years of the new Little Caesars arena that it often looked empty even though it was sold out. People we’re exploring the arena and all there is to do ha watching the games (and may be because Steve hasn’t given them much to watch so far).
