LA keeps finding new ways to f*** up against Edmonton.

Multiple blown 2-0 and 3-0 leads in the past few years.
Blown 2-1 series lead a few years ago.
They will probably get shelled in Game 4 and blow this 2-0 series lead.

Don't most coaching staffs employ a full-time video review person to decide if it's worth making a challenge or not?

Hiller gets final say, but I imagine most coaches would defer to what that person recommends

I have mad respects for him. He's the best player in my favourite sport, but man, I can't imagine Linden, Naslund, Hank, Quinn doing that to their team no matter how bad things are. Just not the right way of doing things. He should be grateful his stupid team is even there. in round 2 he faced a 4th string goalie. if it was equalised for we play our 4th string Oilers also play a 4th string goalie we would have beaten their whinny asses.
Me too, he is no doubt an incredible player. Single handedly carrying his team on his back offensively.

I have called out on the main boards that he needs to continue round out his overall play (which has admittedly improved), which has been met with harsh criticism. I don’t know why everyone defends McDavid so hard, he’s the best player in the league but it doesn’t mean he shouldn’t continue improving in all facets of the game.

With his speed and IQ I have no doubt he could become the next incarnation of a Federov 2 way beast, if he wanted to.

LA is still gonna win. Everyone step away from the ledge.
But the Oilers losing badly demoralizes them.

The Oilers losing, but not badly, gives them hope.

For example:

The Oilers did not win the Stanley Cup last season.

If they lost in the second round against us, there's a good shot Draisaitl asks for a trade, frustrated at back-to-back second round losses.

Since they made it to Game 7 of the SCF, and he re-signed.

This season, if the Oilers get swept, McDavid is frustrated, and may say that next season is "do or die."

If they put up a good fight and push it to 6-7 games, he might feel like "if only XYZ, we could've won... we were right there!" and end up re-signing.
