Hellebuyck really f***ed up that first period, played well in the second then the wheels came off in the third.

Awful.

Still hurts me, not as much as Tkachuk, but i shake my head often when i check the scores/highlights at the end of the night.

Pretty much a top 3 player in a re-draft.

Little reason to take Pods over him. Ah well.

Edit: I'm also watching Snuggerud closely....

Hopefully, this is just a one off because if Hellebuyck implodes yet again, you have to wonder what Winnipeg does. How many playoff seasons can they throw away on him dropping the ball?

Also, only hell does Toronto looked dominate. For once, they actually look like the team they kept pretending to be. Granted, it's Ottawa. But still. Toronto/Florida might actually be a battle this time around.

I'm crossing every part of my body that we don't have a Toronto-Edmonton battle for the cup.

Hellebuyck in classic playoff form, I'm starting to get sick of his shit.
How many years have the Jets wasted playoff years only to come down with awful goaltending.

Sure you can play good in the regular season, but the money you were paid to perform is in the playoffs.

Remember when we used to defend Luongo's shitty playoff performances? That's how I feel about Hellebuych, I can't f***ing understand who he completely mails it come playoff time.

Holy shit.

I've been watching TSN for the past hour and they have not shown ANYTHING other than Leafs/Sens post game coverage.

It's 10pm PST when I write this.

Do they know there are like 8 other playoff games (NBA included) as well as the NFL draft to cover?

Edit: Okay now they are 20 minutes deep into Jets/Blues post game coverage.

It’s going to be Toronto and Colorado in the finals. Leafs finally have a shut down goalie.

Also OEL turned out to be a hell of a player, he might win back to back cups.

The Jets are starting to feel like the Sedin-era Canucks. Regular season killers that just can't get it done in the postseason.

Yeah maybe you were not around but that’s just wrong… that Canucks era team made a cup finals and made the second round routinely. They just ended up losing to the cup winner. Chicago, Boston, LA to name a few

LOL I was looking for a recap of the Whitecaps game on TSN, and they have an article with a picture that looks like it was taken with a disposable camera.

There was a 48 second video on Sportsnet if anyone is interested. (Leafs)Hockey >>>>> every other sport on TSN.

I've been watching since the WCE era and joined here just after the 2011 run when Sportsnet shut down their forums. I just misremembered how good the Jets have been. They've been strong for a while, but less dominant than I thought they were.

I was hoping Winnipeg wouldn't get the Blues in the first round because they seemed like a much better team than the standings would suggest.
That or you get the Wild who were riddled with injuries this year.

Agreed glad it’s not just me, bratty is what I thought of rather than inspiring leader.

Nothing is owed.

Obviously offensively he’s played out of his mind, but when he says “not good enough” is he talking about the play the others need to do (lay the body, block shots, hound the opponents defensively) that he doesn’t do much himself?
I have mad respects for him. He's the best player in my favourite sport, but man, I can't imagine Linden, Naslund, Hank, Quinn doing that to their team no matter how bad things are. Just not the right way of doing things. He should be grateful his stupid team is even there. in round 2 he faced a 4th string goalie. if it was equalised for we play our 4th string Oilers also play a 4th string goalie we would have beaten their whinny asses.

On the bright side, Hoglander was the best player to come out of the second round that year. (based on games played at least). You win some you lose some.

That's why you have to finish bottom 3 and draft bottom 3. No generational, cream of the crop talent available after those picks unless it's an extremely rare circumstance.

If you're going to rebuild, f***ing rebuild. None of this bullshit "retool" which is code for "we don't want to commit and prefer to draft in the mid teens every year".
Quinn Hughes went 7th.

For anyone who’s been following the trial of the 5 hockey players accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a gala to celebrate winning the 2018 WJCs, it took a major turn today:

On the first day, court adjourned early after the judge said something had occurred over a break and they needed to determine how to proceed and instruct the jury. Court adjourned early again yesterday, and now a mistrial has been declared.

What the f***?
