Right.... we split seasons with another family while i could still skate. Poor Stan and Butchy having to deal with McSorely, Semenko, McClellland, etc

But what a :eek::eek::eek: team. Tikannen, , Messier, Lowe, Linseman..
Like present version aren't douchebags lol

Vegas gets the most favorable reffing i’ve seen
I'm not sure about that. They are an aggressive team but generally clean. I don't expect them to take many penalties and they don't. Their games rarely get "passionate" because it's clean and the penalty totals are generally low on both sides. Vegas is the least penalized team. They are also the team that is fouled the least.

I'm not entirely sure that I'm picking up what you're saying, but I was not thinking of Semenko. I've always thought he was a stand-up guy. I was thinking more of issues where character may have been involved; on the ice, off the ice, and even in retirement.

Gretzky (we cannot discuss why here so don't ask), Messier, Glenn Anderson, Ken Linseman, Marty McSorley. I'm probably missing a couple. Hell, that's a shadier list than the cast of "The Usual Suspects". Even the owner Peter Pocklington was shady if my memory is correct.

made this before the first game, nothing so far to question the picks

ottawa looked bad, but toronto actually looked good. this is their year to win the east if they can get through tampa

First game observations so far...

- New Jersey was an absolute shambles. Worst of all the teams I watched in their various Game 1s. Markstrom chopping his own guy in the dick is an all-time self-own.
- Ottawa was close behind in terms of Game 1 ineptitude, but at least they're a young team figuring themselves out. Lots of try, not a lot of smarts - also doesn't help when Ullmark gets lit up like a Christmas tree.
- Toronto looked surgical in Game 1. If they can't get out of the 1st round this year, they never will.
- Colorado took a bit of time to get going in Game 1, but once they did, they rolled hard.
- Echoing sentiments above, Dallas has looked completely broken since that Canucks come from behind win. Maybe that's our one accomplishment all season?
- Winnipeg as a team looked dominant, but it remains amazing to me how shaky Hellebuyck looks when the games start to count. There's an opening for St. Louis, there, if they can keep getting pucks on him.
- I think Vegas is going to make short work of Minnesota.

I'm going to challenge you on Toronto a little bit and I don't think they looked that precise, they took advantage of what Ottawa gave them wow being sloppy in their own right. Both teams need to clean up the neutral zone play but Toronto is playing with fire if they keep digging around in the middle.

Also if Ottawa can keep up heavy Play Down Low they will get to the net
