Around the League 2024-25 season

If the Kings go into the last game of the season needing a win in a do or die situation, it’s over. We better hope that they can find a way to pull out a road win in Seattle against a Kraken team that has their number.

How bout we just win tonight and be done with it?

Ekholm might be done for the year. Absolutely no excuses if he’s out and Kings have home ice. He’s been a rock for them in the previous playoff matchups.

It’s funny, reading the Wings board and they’re ready to shoot Mclellan out of a cannon into the sun.

I guess bum coach had a typical stretch of new coaches favor where the coach looks competent. That has worn off already lmao.

Hopefully this is going to be the last of him. I will never understand how Blake saw the Sharks crumble 3-0 to getting reverse swept by the Kings, only to hire the coach who is still the most recent coach in the NHL to get reverse swept. How do you hire this guy after you see him fail so spectacularly to close out. Must have been some great photos.

Logan Couture to announce his retirement tomorrow.

Or announce he can no longer play and retire officially when he's done getting paid.

sheesh demidov off to the races

Must be another McDavid caliber player

Columbus showed a lot this season, we will see if they get in, but pretty impressive what they have done after tragically losing their leading scorer, Dean Evason should win the coach of the year.

Kent Johnson quietly had a pretty nice season, 57 points in 67 games in his age 22 season. He has some flaws in his overall game and compete level, but when the puck is on his tape in the offensive zone he can make a lot happen. I always thought his ceiling greatly exceeded that of Beniers, but there was some downside too.

Fantilli gets to 30 in his age 20 season, 23 goals in 42 games after the New Year. He should explode next season in his D+3.

Dean Evason.
Jim Montgomery - saved the Blues season
Scott Arniel - Took the Jets to another gear and the top of the NHL without any major additions
Spencer Carbery - Brought the Caps back from near dead to near the top of the NHL

NOT Jim Hiller - he's in the mushy middle and only 12 year olds think he should be awarded the Jack Adams, let alone be a finalist.

Been hearing you boys ramble about the 'mushy middle' or the 'mediocre mid' all season now - however, the Kings will end the season with a record of being somewhere in the 4-6 best in the league. Time to start giving some credit where credit is due and admit your season predictions were basically absurd....as usual.

You have been hearing about the mediocre mid for the last four seasons, not just this one, but of course you won't mention that the previous three seasons the "fake fans" were right. This season is tbd, but I'm guessing if you are wrong you will disappear again.

We're not going to know the 4-6 best until sometime in May. While this regular season has had some nice surprises and has been enjoyable for the most part, the real true fans only care about playoff success. This is the real reward for sitting through 82 games, not the 82 games in and of itself.

Let me see if I have this straight....

You proclaim that Jim Hiller is 'mushy middle' -- I correct you, point out that Jim Hiller is actually top 5 -- you then respond with 'well, we won't really know that until May because I'm a true fan' -- do I have that correct?

Why don't you just say that you don't like Jim Hiller?

I'm happy with Jim Hiller, he's been surprisingly good, he's definitely got the team to buy in. You gotta be happy with the results up to right now- I think the point that gets missed with Jim Hiller is the circumstances and how he got the job. I don't like that there wasn't an exhaustive search and that he wasn't chosen by rising above several other candidates - This is not Jim's fault.

Regardless, he's not a Jack Adams candidate. Someone else hired the finalists for this season, there will be 3 of them, NOT five or six. I will be shocked if he's one of them. Not a chance in hell.

You don't like there wasn't an 'exhaustive search', yet you have no clue what went on behind the scenes. Did someone tell you this?

Regardless, what does it matter? Obviously, they made the right choice so what is your point?

'Not a chance in hell' is massively big stretch, pal.
