Not possible.....heard it was the single best pickup NYR could make and he would become a perennial 20 goal scorer with them...there is no fathomable reason why he would be scratched...just none. It's Blake's fault I'm guessing.

Aside from all this - Is it not clear Blake is a garbage GM? All draft capital from the rebuild has been spent, and the team is at the cap. Someone tell how the team gets better from here without another rebuild.

Blake Out of Hell III: Back in to Hell
DT runs circles around Blake. DT was not allowed to spend like Bluc has. He also had one Top 10 pick who was flipped for Ziggy Palffy and wound up playing over 1,200 NHL games.
While he blew the 2003 draft, even with the Brown pick, he landed Kopitar and Quick in 2005.
Oh...he also got to Game 7 of the 2nd Round.

Depends on what you mean by garbage. If you think the goal is to win the Cup then yeah absolutely, but I think it’s pretty clear that he intended all along to construct Nashville 2.0: a team that will be in the mix for the playoffs every year, that believes the playoffs are a total crapshoot to the point that just getting in means you have as good a chance as anyone, and above all else will never finish in the bottom 10 of the league. This team has enough middle aged talent that it will be very hard for them to be bad enough to get lottery picks even after Kopi and Drew are gone.
Blake openly said he wanted to model the Kings after the Preds and it’s hard to say he hadn’t done that. Some people bizarrely prefer this over a real rebuild but to each their own I guess.
