I was just jibbing at the assertion he was going to be a raging success because he scored a couple of goals… the need for people to start bitching about it despite the small sample size. It can still go either way and to be clear I hope he finds his niche and kills it.Oh no, he's only on pace for 17 even strength goals and a +16 in limited minutes while getting used to a new team for the first time in his pro career!
Guess we learned, that'll show us!
Edit: yep this is a real 'gotcha' alright

Embarassing the lengths people will go to to justify bad asset management after everything we've seen
I mean people were even ‘counting’ his disallowed goal as proof he will thrive outside of the org. Yet if anyone did that to defend a poorly performing current player they’d rightly be mocked for it. Disallowed goals mean nothing for anyone.
The sample size was (still is) too small too objectively judge. You rightly point out that’s he’s hardly played for them (or anyone for 12 months).
The earliest to judge the Kaliyev situation is end of the season. Even then it’d be fair to argue he’d need a bit more time
