Around the League 2024-25 season

Yep. They have the highest shooting percentage in the NHL.

I have no doubt some of their young guys emerging is real and that Carbery is a great coach

but put me down for MAJOR doubts that they're riding high after the Ovy record, year 2 of PLD, Chychruns next paper cut, Logan Thompson not being an actual .930 goalie, a year older Carlson and Wilson, etc

Capitals tracked Pierre-Luc Dubois for years before trading for him and believed his problems in LA were solely usage-based

"Washington then confirmed with Tim Barnes, the head of their analytics department, that Dubois’ primary issues in LA revolved around the Kings’ already high usage of Anze Kopitar and Phillip Danault down the middle. Dubois played 15:42 minutes on ice per game with Los Angeles, only the second time in his career that he averaged less than 16 minutes per game in a season."
Kopitar was also blocking him from excelling in Winnipeg and Columbus as well. He's that good.

I didn't realize I could like PLD less, but these people white knighting a historically gutless and heartless player has actually made him even worse.

If they were just sticking up for him I could live with that

It’s calling fans of three franchises stupid as if they didn’t see it with their own eyes

Lmao I'm sure that'll solve things for NY and Vancouver. I do like Chytil though, solid player though he's in a similar position as Turcotte as far as concussions go. I was thinking Miller would go to the Avs for Mittelstadt + but I guess it wasn't a good enough fit, Mittelstadt has been abysmal this year.

Dubois having to beat out Danault for 2C is a joke. Imagine Danault coming in his first year and having to beat out Lizotte. The whole fiasco comes down to Blake not being direct with Todd from day 1 of the trade.

“Dubois had requested a trade out of Columbus and did the same with the Winnipeg Jets just two years later.”

Oh yeah but it was definitely the kings that were the issue.

All of a sudden every media person forgot the last 3 teams he was on he had problems and was eventually traded. Now "oh, the new PLD, I knew he was that awesome." 🤦
