Around the League 2024-25 season

The Salt Lake City Punks.

That movie is 100% me growing up in a small city in Minnesota.

Two more younger players taking on key roles and thriving of their team, while Bluc and their lackeys push slow-cook development and putting everything on the shoulders of aging veterans. Both these guys are on pace to score 70 points in their age 23 seasons, taken #9 and #12 in their drafts.

Anything but Utah Hockey Club is fine. I hate the whole "___ Club" naming convention. If they go with Hockey Club hopefully they at least have a mascot or something.
We have the Minnesota United Futball Club here and while I hate the name, the logo is at least cool and features a cool looking Loon.

Edit: Saw Herby's post and thought Faber and Ohgren had gone on tears...
Man, does Rossi have more points in his last 28 than the Kings entire top 6 over that time?

Favorite Cliford moment, his newborn son using the Stanley Cup as a basinet.
My memory is really rusty, so I could be remembering this completely wrong. One of my favorite Clifford moments was during the series with the Ducks (game 7?) when Getzlaf took a run at him in the neutral zone. Clifford knew he was going to get destroyed, but totally took the hit to make a pass to Richards, who then scored against Gibson. Looking for the clip, but I haven't found it yet.

Junior teams retire numbers? That seems REAL dumb.
It's pretty meaningful with some of these communities. Generally these players do a lot of community service and they have a big impact. I'm sure Clifford brought the cup there as well when he won it.

Part of what inspires young players (and people) is the idea of leaving a legacy behind somewhere.

It may not mean much to us who are NHL-focused armchair fans, but it may mean something to the next little kid from Ayr, Ontario who may not be the most talented, but pours his heart into making the NHL.

Ok sure, but retiring a number still seems dumb for a junior team that has more players go through it than Mia Khalifa.
