Around the League 2024-25 season

4 more points for Gabe tonight……….
Aside from the obvious stupidity of the trade lets highlight the brilliance of trading away a top 6 RH so that the entire top 6 for 23-24 was LH (after RV went on IR). RH top 6 forwards are hard to find.. the ratio is approx 3-1 Left to Right. So, prob one of the reasons the PP sucked nuts is not having that RH skilled fwd on PP1.

Isn't Laf, a right handed shot?

Didn't he take Arvidssons spot?

Vilardi still looks like an offensive lineman chasing a corner on an INT, but give the guy credit, he has brilliant hands around the net and has the Luc Robitaille game sense to where the puck always end up on his stick in those high-scoring areas. I didn't think anyone who skated like that could score like this in the NHL anymore, but I was wrong.

And at this rate PLD is going to score 70+ too, just to add the salt to the wounds.

Pretty crazy that the two worst trades in recent memory for the Kings happened in back to back summers.

How far back do we have to go to find something worse?

GTFO with that nonsense. We don't all agree, but I doubt there was single person here not happy that PLD was dumped last year...and Kuemper has been f***ing awesome.

Was pretty clearly talking about the trades that sent Faber and Vilardi away in consecutive summers.

How far back do we have to go to find two that have ended up being worse?

off topic....is there anything about this team that you enjoy? Like, do you cheer when they score? Anything?

I enjoy Adrian Kempe, I think he is one of the fine all-around players in the league. I still like Kopitar a lot, I think he is still one of the best two-way centers in hockey, I think that in a more modern offensive system as opposed to this dead-puck era system the Kings run that Brandt Clarke could shine, but I am already concerned that the Kings archaic system is going to limit his ceiling, as it's done with other players. I still root for the Kings to win and hope they do well, butt no, I am not happy with the dead-puck era grind out 2-1 and 3-2 wins style because I think it has zero chance to succeed in the post-season against teams with elite offensive talent and offensive systems in a league that is very much structured to feature offense. And that is what I care about, having a team that can compete for a championship. Finishing 3rd in the Pacific and losing to better constructed teams every post-season does nothing for me. If you want to say that makes me less of a fan, well so be it. I've been a fan of this team for over three decades and I'd rather suffer through a longer and properly constructed rebuild that results in championship caliber teams like the 2012-2014 Kings, than to have a roster construction that is largely a copy of what Dave Taylor did in the late 90's and early 2000's. Good enough to get in, but never good enough to do anything. You may have good memories of the 97-2002 Kings and wish to return to that, but I don't.

Myself, and many of the other "haters" and "fake fans" that you argue with here, believe the Kings made a gigantic mistake ending their rebuild in the summer of 2021 without multiple locked in young star players, such as what they had with Kopitar and Doughty when that rebuild was ended in 2009.

I’ve proudly been a fake fan since April 2017. No issues with hoping this team loses so the nepo baby crew finally gets fired and us fake fans have a chance to see Dan Beckerman do an actual job search.
