So... should Kevin Fiala have his career ruined, considering he injured Matt Roy and has had some discipline issues with his hits and physical play?

It's not about pretending to be better than anyone. I just think there needs to be a line when it comes to violent retribution, because ultimately it will affect things you care about negatively. To me, it's pragmatism.
Did it upset you when fans around the league wanted Brown to get injured for many years? or did you understand where it was coming from?

Shit yes it pissed me off.

So… should we wait for McDavid to ruin someone else’s career first, just ‘cause he’s McDavid?
No. Like I said - hit him hard again and again, and make him look over his shoulder. And frankly the league needs to levy suspensions better.

I just think there should be a line at wishing long-term injury on anyone.

Did you ever wonder why Brown was hated? And if the player who people want retribution on is showing no regard for any of the long term damage he's committing to his fellow players then why should anyone frankly care? Did you get upset of fans who saw Cooke get knocked out by Kane or did you understand why people were celebrating it?

I guess I came off a bit harsh. @tigermask48 said it best. “If he dies, he dies”. You just can’t go around doing that kind of shit and expect it not to come back to you.

I know why Brown was hated. But I also know I wouldn't want his career ended because some knuckle dragger like Bertuzzi jumping him and fracturing his neck.

Matt Cooke was knocked out in a fight and continued to be able to play. He wasn't injured. Of course it was cathartic.

You keep insinuating that drawing a line means I'm anti-violence. I'm not. I think going out of your way to injure a player to the point he may not play again is f***ed up.

So I'll ask again. Would you be okay if someone ended Fiala's career or injured him because he injured someone in the past?

To be fair brown DID get his knee taken out in 2012 making him ineffective the rest of the run and derailing his career and yes it was widely celebrated despite the offender being a gigantic diaper baby pissant himself

It's impossible to know which hit or action is career ending and I don't think that has happened since the Hossa hit. Do I want something to happen to McDavid where he will be in a wheel chair for the rest of his life? No. Would I be against the knee torpedo Brown did to Hertl against a scum bag like McDavid, absolutely not. I am cool with others hating Brown and wishing shit on him because his hits like even the one of Hertl weren't accidental. If Fiala goes around injuring players like McDavid then I would be understanding if he got Anderson'd.

Im not talking about a permanent injury like Bertuzzi, I am talking about a cast for a couple of months is a nice reminder to not be a dirty piece of shit.

If you want me to clarify anymore where I stand, I would be completely fine with the run McDavid did on Anderson happening to him every time he was being a dirty piece of shit. Get a penalty and slightly injure the dude? The league didn't seem to think it was a big deal when Anderson got caved in like that? Why not McDavid?

I think i’ve said it before but on one hand good on McDavid for channeling superstars of eras past who stand up for themselves

But on the other being a rat and hitting guys from behind and with cross checks isn’t brave

He’s gonna get whatever’s coming to him and at this point he’s deserving of it. He’s hurt what, four Kings at this point?

Yes, with Andersen missing about a month after being boarded .

That's fair - by and large it sounds like we're saying almost the same things.

I want turds who injure other players with dirty hits to get punished again and again with hard hits. I love hard-hitting, honest hockey. I just don't want ANY player to get injured from dirty hits. And I think it's important to keep that level of distinction in hockey discourse.

I also want the instigator rule eliminated so players can respond with immediate physicality to rat plays.

Mike Johnson with the worst take on the McDavid retaliation. He claim he did it because he;s not getting all the calls on him and that he's frustrated that every time he's touched or roughed up , it not a penalty. He thinks it's a good thing for him to get suspended, because now the league will get together and start calling more penalties for McDavid and the Oilers in order to protect him. Then they showed some stat how he's drawn less calls this year than last and it why the Oilers aren't scoring as much on the pp. I'm glad he was willing to say he's getting suspended and not try and cover up the head shot from the game before.

i saw mcdavid butt end gavrikov last oil-kings game in the solar plexus that created agony for gavrikov for a good 5-8 minutes. 97 could have ruptured his diaphragm with that cheap shot. That would have been fatal. Its no exaggeration that every game i watch that he's in he delivers potential injury via a cheapshot. Up until now player safety has ignored this and he plays by a different set of rules than the rest. This arrogant pricks special treatment decreases the credibility of the nhl thats already sorely lacking.
There was a time when if a player delivered
even one cheap shot he would have the living shit beat out of him and he'd learn to use acceptable techniques to retaliate.
