This angle doesnt show how bad this was.. Main question is how. many games is Kucherov going to get.

Edit: he's back.. That looked like a major injury and it was not.

Where would Faber be playing with Doughty, Spence and Clarke?

Vilardi on the other hand, Kings could use a skilled RH shot. That’s brutal.
In front. Faber would be playing in front of them. There isn't a coach in the world that would resist playing Faber 25 minutes a night against the best players in the world. Likely the same results as Doughty at the moment, but with one player ascending while the other is on the inevitable path down.

Spence would likely have been dealt, Clarke getting the "this kid is really good" protected 3rd pairing minutes while ironing out his edges.

Don’t get me wrong Kucherov has made some bad plays but Tkachuk was milking this. His leg was dangling out there and Kucherov looked like he was targeting the body. We’ve defended Brown for similar.

I really can’t decide if i think it was intentional or not.

Can you recall a more obvious situation of a player leading with a knee though? He had his leg braced outwards two full strides before contact.

I don't blame players for reacting like Tkachuk, just like I don't blame a lot of soccer players for prolonged stays on the floor after a hit to the knee or ankle. Those knocks feel really bad in the immediate moment and it takes a little bit of time to know whether its serious or not. Some minor injuries feel very similar to severe ones right after impact, it just takes a couple of minutes to assess. Of course there is milking as well, and a professional turd like Tkachuk loses the benefit of most doubts.

yeah there's a still somewhere in that main board thread of tkachuk's knee clearly hyperextended, he's just lucky he was able to shake it off

doesn't excuse how badly kuch was trying to hurt him though

its interesting how well y'all are defending poor matthew tkachuk. obviously dont recall him shoving his stick blade inside quick's mask in an effort to blind or permanently injure him. an eye injury of the sort that tkachuk was attempting would have been career endiong as well as maiming. nothing that happens to that son of a bitch is too good for him

I can think he is a dirtball while also seeing this hit being dirty. The two are mutually exclusive.
