I still don’t understand at all how it all fell apart for the Rangers this year. They did not have a bad roster at all. Overnight implosion
They have two problems this year. One is that they're a team historically skilled at converting and they're suddenly struggling to convert. That will probably correct over time. The second is that they've become a tire fire defensively. That one isn't going to correct itself.

Buffalo are in their own heads.

You can actually see it when it happens. The other team scores a goal or two and they all get a look on their loser faces. The "oh no here we go again" look.

If you've ever been on a bad team with a bad goalie you know exactly what I'm talking about.

This is an organization operating on the longest playoffs drought in NHL history. This record in humiliation spans across multiple GM's, coaches, and core players. The only constants in the last thirteen years have been the Pegula's and losing.

I guess if they're ok with losing they're ok with being losers.

As a Leafs fan I'm ecstatic they're in the same division. Along with Ottawa and Detroit, both of whom are on their own historically bad runs at missing the postseason, it's practically a guaranteed playoffs birth every year for my favourite team. Call me a callous jerk all you want but I don't feel bad for their city, players, or anyone living there at all.

Their team sucks and so do their fans.

Buffalo has the Bills and boy do they love them. I wish the Leafs had 1/100th of that atmosphere and passion.

Pretty much any NFL team has a better tailgate party in the parking lot than what the Leafs put on inside the arena.

NFL fans are the best because they drink a lot.
I think Buffalo is one of the best NFL tailgates, certainly one of the best I’ve been to, including colleges.

We know it isn't Ovechkin.

A couple 23 year olds coming of age?
A couple defenders getting enough games under their belt?
A couple free agents?

A coach hiding in plain sight?
Puck pursuit for sure. But Ovie is probably going to finish top 3 all time in hits. He is pretty physical

Ovechkin with goal #872 today and needs 23 goals in his last 43 games to hit 895.

He has 19 goals in 23 games this season and 42 goals in his last 59 games overall.

Very possible he breaks it this season if he stays healthy.
