What will happen is teams will get better. Do you know that Florida used Tampa as their model in how to build a winner?

The same thing will happen. Teams will use Florida and get better. Someone will knock off the champs.

Florida is gonna crash sooner or later. They won't be able keep the same roster they had last season and Bob won't be able to continue to play lights out. Even Vasy with the bolts took a step back. Its just a matter of time!

Tampa had a great run, Chicago had a great run.

Tampa still has a good team, but hasn't made it out of 1st. round 3 years straight.

We are a special case of cooked. They wrecked our cap and saddled is with old guys and overpays.

As brutally bad as the free list goes, it is going to be interesting to see if some of the garbage teams step up this year.

Some of those teams have so much cap space, we should know if they actually want to compete or are complacent just having a NHL product?

We also hear plenty of them when our team is eliminated from the playoffs.

I like how they've fully embraced being the villains. The NHL doesn't have much personality overall and there are hardly any good rivalries, so this is a breath of fresh air. It will also be that much sweeter to see them go down

Chicago and San Jose should be all in on improving their defence by getting one of Gavrikov or Ekblad. Ekblad would be best for San Jose imo and Gavrikov for Chicago because they got the offence and prospects that should help their offence and those 2 guys would be best paired with their top defensive prospect who are more known for their offence.
