Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

People who have said Marchand might want to sign with the Leafs and I'm wondering why when you're playing with the Panthers who are kicking ass right now and will probably continue to do so for the next several years until you retire. You won't ever have as good a chance to win another cup as you will staying with Florida.

Although I think most of us realize we need change, watching Florida absolutely dummy Carolina makes you think If we should run it back on more time.

I wouldn’t, but does make you think.
No, it shouldn't change our opinion in the least. Once Florida got their goaltending going they cruised through us.

We aren't close. We've tried the same core 9 times and they've won less playoff series' during that time, combined, than Florida is going to win this year alone.

They failed.

Leafs couldn't hang with the Panthers in 3 of the final 4 games of the series. It may have went 7, but it wasn't close overall

Panthers basically create a very uncomfortable enviroment for opposing star players.

No time and space, finish every check, throw some dirtbag moves in there to frustrate.

This stuff just accumulates and by the end of the series you're done.

Stats will never be able to measure this.

Probably because winning with the Panthers is irrelevant, those fans will forget and abandon the team the second they are not even bad but just meh.

Winning in Toronto would immortalize you and the Leafs were his childhood team that he rekt during his playing days.

Could be total pipe dream by me, but if he was really a Leaf fan growing up and there's nothing really left to do in his career, chasing Toronto immortality is way more interesting than winning down south.

Yep. Their key is to be aggressive everywhere, forcing you to make a good play for a clear or scoring chance.

Some teams are too concerned with protecting the 'home plate' area in the D zone and just let the opponent cycle all day. Panthers will pressure the puck carrier regardless of where they are
