You need a hybrid approach, and that's what Florida has down pat. Timely goaltending, sandpaper in spades upfront and in the back, intolerance for failure or lack of effort, and depth at all positions.

yeah but guess what, stolarz in game 3 likely prevents us from collapsing and also forces florida to continue struggling on the dump and forecheck hockey they love. it was like having an extra dman to absorb pressure and quickly break out back there. its not by mistake that we looked like a completely different team to start game 1

When you have so much of the cap tied up to 4-5 players and the organization can't seem to produce good depth players, it's hard to have a solid, consistent 3rd line.

Domi and Pacioretty came through at times, but it was a revolving door of linemates for the most part.

yeah we waste 6 million on cardio merchants and scratches as well. I could buy the we tied up cap inn 4 guys argument if not for Kampf, Jarnkrok and Reaves contracts. Eetu luosterainen makes 3 million ffs.

bennett's type of play isn't sustainable into the mid 30s

he's a beast, and a high end 2C considering all the intangibles and physicality he brings, but idk if a 32-33 year old bennett's body will be able to keep up

also it is pretty funny that tre is the one who traded them both LOL
