I think Dallas has more of a balanced team and better goaltending but Edmonton has more killers on top of their star quality. Perry and Kane vs Bennett, Tkachuk, Marchand will be a blood bath.

if you do this then almost every year is excused:

2019: Lost to the stanley cup finalists in 7 games. only two teams took them to 7 (us and blues) so are we the 3rd best team?

2021: Lost to the stanley cup finalists in 7 games (lol). only teem to take them to 7 (they lost in 5 to tampa who beat the islanders in 7) so are we the 4th best team?

2022: Lost to the stanley cup finalists in 7 games. Only team to take them to 7 (lost to avs in 6) so are we the 3rd best team?

We've been in that type of position almost every year. At some point winning needs to happen. Pittsburgh got over the Detroit dynasty to win, Washington exorcised the pittsburgh demons, Florida beat the 130+ point bruins on their way to the first finals and they beat the PT rangers last year.

To be the best you gotta beat the best, and the leafs can never do that.

Us losing in 7 shouldn't be what matters, it's how we lost game 7 that matters. The game was never close and therefore neither was the series.

While what you say is true, it also does disminish what the reality of the situation is.

Basically the Leafs are the Jets of the 80's trying to get by Cal and Edm.

By no means is this the worst era of Maple Leafs history.

The Core 4 is soft, but it's the GM and coaches fault.

Dubas screwed us, but he was handed 4 guys that seemingly can't win.

The NMC didn't kick in til after Tre arrived and he still signed Matthews and Nylander and didn't trade Marner.

People need a villian. We have blamed everyone but our own entitled selves for thinking somehow we are more deserving of a Championship team then the fans of who we deem lesser markets.

Ridiculous to call Matthews Pigface, or Bitch Marner because they didn't win.

They 100% deserve criticism for their lack of ecer putting it together, but to take it as an insult is crazy.

Calling someone entitled while they don't reach your expectations or don't play the way you fantisize you would have played if you made it out of house league is crazy.

I consider the 90's Bills to be as old as Cup winning Leafs.

I meant more that the today Bills loae to Mahomes every year, or Burrows...
