Once Draisaitl committed there was very little chance that McDavid would leave.

Hopefully if he does extend, he does it July 1 so the idea he may come and rescue this team can be put to bed.

Sure hope Dallas can continue to work through their challenges and oust the Av's. I was high on them all season but started to see cracks toward the end of the schedule. They've done a good job making adjustments and did so in short order. I think they have a strong program and are willing to make bigger moves to reach their goal. As a believer in open-mindedness, that is a very appealing quality.
They strike me as a team more in line with how I would operate if chasing the same goal. One of the more attractive teams to support as a fan IMO.

It would be very impressive if they win without the two key guys. I doubted them this series especially without Heiskanen, but fringe guys like Petrovic have really stepped up

If they close this out, they'll get healthy for subsequent rounds and could be the favourites in the West.

Their top two guys certainly hate it. The rest of the team is irrelevant.

Meanwhile Matthews doesn't even limp to a 100 pts half the time and still struggles after. I can't hate on a guy for injuries but it would be nice if they handled it better and properly

Yeah, that loss in 1944 still stings? On a side note, the NHL couldn't play during the start of COVID, but playing during some of the bloodiest periods of WW2 was no issue.
