Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

Pittsburgh is in full tear down rebuild mode. It'll take a bit of time to get back to it. I think he has to hope Crosby, Malkin and even Letang accept trades to chase cups soon. They could get huge hauls that would speed things up quite a bit. I'd be shocked if they could turn it around within a few years. They are off to a decent start with a good amount of picks but their prospect cupboard is still pretty bare.
I don't think Crosby is moving, he will probably retire a Pen...Malkin could fetch a decent package, but he's old at 38...could fetch a mid to late 1st or a decent prospect...Letang might not be worth much at all. Had Dubas moved them when he first joined the Pens, it would be a different story. However, the way he talked about the Caps' resurgence with an old Ovi, Dubas might not move them at all. Perhaps he goes hard on Marner if Marner is a UFA come July.

Geez, haven't heard Dubas in awhile, hostile reporters and he has zero mojo anymore:

What is good for the Pens organization is to fire the galaxy brain. Too soon I guess. Would not want to look like fools for hiring him.

The pace Florida plays with is incredibly difficult to deal with for any team. Not sure sure how long they’ll be able to keep it up but it sure is impressive.

That's not the 1st time Ekblad has done that leading with the elbow. That'll probably be a suspension.

I've seen three direct blows to the head knocking 3 players out of their games. One penalty.
What a stupidly ran league
Watch Domi catch Rippy Craig or someone and get the rest of the playoffs
It probably wouldn't be as big of a deal if they didn't just randomly suspend 1 person and then others get nothing. This Ekblad one looks like he's intentionally trying to hurt players. Did it to Gourde too but the only difference was he was behind him and hit him in the back of the head/helmet. Just crazy you can clearly see him wind up his arm like he's gonna punch someone and elbows someone in the head and no call.

Two Refs missed it some how?

Five minute major to the Panthers.

I think that is partly due to the clearly missed elbow/headstot to Hagel.

At the same time, I am 100% for major penalties to ALL hits from behind.
