Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

Don't count out the Canadians beating Washington if they don't win tonight.
With every games the young players will get more confident

Habs fans now copying the leafs with their own version of maple leaf square (leafs fans)

And Jurassic park (raptors fans).

In the rest of Canada, The Jets, oilers, flames, sens and. Canucks followed suit and also created their own outside fan zones for the playoffs . Who said that Toronto is not a city that sets trends ?

American nhl teams copied the trend too. Last year in the playoffs, the rangers had their own maple leaf square fan zone in Central Park. In Vegas, there’s a outdoor scene outside the arenas where large numbers of fans can watch the game on a screen.

In the nba, the Milwaukee bucks have their own Jurassic park- The deer district

This was the scene when the bucks won the 2021 nba championship at home in Milwaukee :

The phoenix suns also have crowds of fans watching the game on a screen outside their arena.

Toronto was actually the first city with NHL/NBA teams in North America to allow large crowds of loud and loyal sports fans to watch the game on massive TV screens in a designated area, just outside the arena . I know many NFL fanbases have tailgate parties outside their stadiums where fans drink, eat and party before the game. But unlike nba/ nhl fans, when it’s game time, they get inside the football stadium. I doubt there are any outdoor viewing parties among MLB fanbases.

Montreal is the annoying team that sticks around and then ends up winning when they shouldn't. I'm not confident that Washington will win this series.

That classy French lady in the stands was none too pleased with the Hutson turnover on the EN. Then he screwed up again.

Toronto started the whole “viewing party” idea for sure.
