Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

So happy with Lany 2 yrs out of hockey wow.
That is what sports is about

It was actually three years...

That's a long time to be out of pro sports. Making it back after that much time off is a hell of an accomplishment. Hopefully he can continue to play at a high level for a few more years.

I'm gonna assume he wins the Masterton for this.

Very true. One thing though is he was training all along in some capacity and has been skating for many months on his own. So it’s not like he was sitting on the couch. He had the best trainers possible helping him

Genuinely made me smile. Landy is such a great player and someone who has earned a lot of respect from his peers dating back to junior. Was the first European captain of the Kitchener Rangers in their history, then became C of Colorado at only 19 years old. Great moment

If anything that shows his determination / drive and his love for the game. Many players would've just collected the LTIR money and called it quits, especially given that he already won a Cup - dude is set for life but still went through with an extremely rare surgery and years of rehab just to try and play again. The setbacks would've destroyed many other people mentally by now and caused them to give up.

Never mind "many" - I think most athletes would have called it quits after that long. It's a great story.

Jets should be getting as much shit thrown their way as the leafs for their history.... If leafs had a constant veizna winning goalie, we probably win a ship already, jets can't do it 😂
