Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

Imagine losing Holloway, Broberg, Foegle and Mcleod so you can sign washed up hacks like Skinner and Arvidson because of the name recognition factor

Those young guys were key to the Oilers success last playoffs and especially their elite PK
Well they had to get cap space to fix their atrocious D and goaltending.

Wait they didn’t do anything to address that obvious problem everyone else could see????

Boy the Oil not looking good, but as we keep hearing from Ottawa, gotta lose one at home. But L.A. sure looks like they don't feel like losing the series again.

Dallas-Av's is going 7, am I right?

Canadiens-Caps on Friday is going to be a crazy atmosphere. I'm actually cheering for the Habs in that one, contrary to my conditioning. But I don't think they have enough to win a series on Caps.

-Caps have dominated for the most part, but they've let the Habs hang around each game. I think we may see a lopsided score in one of the next two games

-Oettinger stole game 3 for the Stars. He made 3-4 incredible saves when they were down. Huge win because now they're in the driver's seat with Heiskanen potentially coming back soon.

-Kings continue to dominate on home ice. I just hope they don't die as usual on the road. Oilers D is a mess....Kings are crashing the net with ease. Pickard the saviour in game 3 lmao

Laine's cooked.
Although the Canadiens were pushing for the tying goal, forward Patrik Laine did not get a shift in the third period.

Laine, who had an assist in Game 1 after getting 33 points (20 goals, 13 assists) in 52 games in the regular season, had one shot on goal and five shot attempts in 10:10 of ice time the first two periods.

“They’re decisions you make as a coach,” St. Louis said. “I shortened my bench by a lot in the third. … Honestly, I went with the nine or 10 players who I thought could help the cause.”

It's just incredible to me how Edmonton hasn't addressed their most glaring weakness in so many years. They have probably the two most offensively gifted players in the world, and a sieve between the pipes.

I realize it's tough to get a goalie, but yikes.

Holland and Bowman don't seem to be that great once they left their old teams with stacked hall of fame lineups.
