Around the League - 2024-2025 Part II

Calgary still in it. I hope they make it but they need to win at least two of their next three games to have a chance. They finish the year against San Jose (have to win this), Vegas, and LA, and those last two teams are no slouches. But two wins only works if Minnesota and St. Louis lose out their last two games in regulation.

If both St. Louis and Minnesota win at least one game Calgary has to sweep their last three games.

St Louis has Utah and Seattle so I doubt they lose both.

Canucks can do Cal a favour by beat Min tonight, but I doubt the Wild lose to Ana.

I would love to see Kadri back in the playoffs

Tampa can only get 104 points.. Leafs hold the tiebreaker, no?
Leafs have the tie breaker today (ROW). The tie breaker at the end of the season will depend on how many games are won in regulation vs in OT vs SO, the rest of the way. Quite the headache to figure it out. I'm assuming Leafs get it done so I don't have to deal with it.

The Leafs won't have space to sign McDavid after Marner and Tavares are resigned.
And if Marner wants to go elsewhere? Never count your chickens before they hatch. Even if you are right, if McDavid wants to be a Leaf, and Leafs want McDavid, they will do what it takes to make it happen IMO.

If they lose in round #1, I'd be open to signing Marner, assuming he has a solid playoff, at a good number and trading Matthews for Byfield and Clarke. Kings get the big Yank, the Yank moves closer to home and Leafs move off the 1 and 9 core. Rielly would be shown the door as well. Everybody wins except Tessa.

They will lose the first tie breaker RW if Tampa gains one more win than the Leafs in regulation they are tied now. The only way for your 4 pt scenario to work would be if Tampa wins one in overtime and the Leafs win all the games in regulation. That's why 5 points is a sure thing 4 pts is not.

For a team that desperately needed to win games down the stretch to make the playoffs, their performance has been a f***ing joke.
Detroit is such a meh team. Montreal has way more upside.
Ekholm and Hyman done for the night.

It's all coming together. Oilers faceplant in R1 and McDavid wants out.
Unfortunately I think McDavid's fate was sealed when Drai re-signed.

Caps have completely checked out. The last stretch of the season was just them chasing Ovi's record, they had the Metro locked up a long time ago and are playing for nothing otherwise.
