The TikTok brain rot constant seeking of dopamine and chasing the next big hit constantly feels kind of evident with this Ovi record breaking thing. Guy just broke the goals record set by the greatest hockey player of all time and so much of the media questions and discussions shifts to - okay what's next? Who's going to break it next? Before it's even been more than a few days. Rather than just maybe enjoy something very rare and historic for what it is? I wonder if when Gretzky broke it the media reacted the same way. Somehow I doubt it. I think part of this might be the affect of TikTok brain rot and part of it might be that Matthews plays on the Leafs.

Ottawa and Montreal separating from the pack has really killed morale for some of the bubble teams. CBJ was shutout back to back over the weekend, and the Rangers got shutout by the Devils then smoked by Tampa tonight. Though to be fair they did put up 40 shots tonight, unsure if they were muffins and those shots were empty calories or if Vasilevskiy was a brick wall.

Islanders and Red Wings are at least trying to make a go of it but it’s probably too little too late.

Yeah, I think too little too late. Barring a collapse, which I suppose could happen since these are all bubble teams, it looks like Montreal is in.
